Been linked with a few sides, from Swansea to Chelsea.

I think Chelsea would be too big for him.

Chelsea would be a silly first move I think. Mainly due to the way the club is run and they don't have the type of players to play is high tempo style, beyond maybe Willian.

But I don't think it would be too big a job for him. He won a Copa América on home soil, so he can handle pressure.

In Brazil the sleeping giant of Santa Cruz might have just won promotion back the top flight but they are still beset by problems. Before a big pre-season friendly against Flamengo two armed gunmen stormed the ticket office at the Arruda stadium and left with £2000 in cash and stolen tickets.

Boca fans threw acid on River Plate players in last seasons Libertadores. Was originally meant to be four games behind closed doors but Boca have friends in high places and got it down to just this game.

They didn't miss much in that game anyway. Pretty dull.

I think its cause of the gassing incident versus River Plate last year

Thats outrageous if it was acid. They should have doubled the ban minimum if that is the case.

Yes, i had a bet on it, and watched the second half....very frustrating.(yes, i lost):56:

Wasn't acid it was pepper spray so we were both wrong, but i remember watching the tie, there was also rumours that the water was turned off in the away dressing room

There was acid in the mixture. The River players were very lucky to end up in hospital with only minor burns.

I have to say i think Argentinian football is the best football to watch for me.Time and again i randomly tune in to watch a game, and it is always an incredibly open high tempo but skilled game to watch. I really love it.

Watched Boca win at home the other night against Union Santa Fe with wee Tevez scoring a very late winner.
I might enjoy watching Brazilian football as much if i could be bothered trying to figure out their whole league set up.....too many teams etc!

I generally watch the games when im betting on them, which isnt too often as i tend to watch American sport late at night, but i recommend anyone give their game a try if they havent already.

Peñarol opened their new stadium, the Estadio Campeón del Siglo. It is the second biggest stadium in Uruguay with room for 40,000, after the Estadio Centenario, Peñarol's old ground.

They played River Plate (when River opened the Monumental in 1938 Peñarol were the first guests), won 4 x 1 and Diego Forlán scored the first goal.

I miss being able to watch South American football at reasonable hours. :54: Back in the US or Argentina I could wake up and catch some morning European matches, start my day, and settle down for a nice afternoon of North and South American football.

Racing Club x Boca Juniors in the Libertadores.

    http://cricfree.net

Both teams look safe in their group but a win for either side should get them top spot which will help them avoid the stand out teams of the tournament so far. Mainly Colombia's Atlético Nacional or Mexico's Toluca. But both Racing and Boca are struggling in the league right now.

Later tonight is São Paulo x River Plate.
