Yeah, around that. First time Corinthians have ever had their own stadium too.

The last Fluminense cup game, 4000 people showed up. 74,000 empty seats :smiley-laughing002:

:56::56:. Imagine the compilation you could put together of Fred's worst bits.

That is shocking too about Fluminense, 4k?! Absolutely pathetic. Didn't they lose that game to a Serie B side? I have in my head both Sao Paolo and Fluminense lost to Serie B sides in the cup on the same night?

I'm only messing anyway, I only used to like Fluminense when I was younger on FIFA, mind their used to be a "Team Chemistry" rating, Fluminense was like 95 and they were rated like 3.5 stars I think so it worked pretty well, mates used to think I was being a cocky * when they were being Barca etc and I rolled up with Fluminense :smiley-laughing002:.

He is turning into Torres. Some one put a lot of faith in him and it has killed him :smiley-laughing002:

Yip, Flu lost to América de Natal 5 x 2 at home. First time they conceded five goals in a competitive game in years. São Paulo lost to Bragantino. Worst result was Santa Cruz losing to Santa Rita (a team without a league).

95 chemistry? FIFA clearly weren't doing their research that day :56:

Aye I can't even find what FIFA it was, it must've been 07 or 08 anyway. Might have been lower than 95 but it was over 90.

I meant to ask you too since you're the S.American expert on here, do you know the team from Colombia, Millonarios. They must be despised by most clubs surely? :smiley-laughing002:. Not exactly a very wealthy part of the world and they're running about calling themselves Millionaires :smiley-laughing002:

Yeah, but I don't know how good they are right now. Atlético Nacional have been miles ahead of everyone else lately. But the name "Millonarios" was originally a nickname to describe all their new Argentine players. When the Colombian league started up it was outside of FIFA so the clubs didn't have to pay transfer fees (so all the money went into wages). At the same time the Argentine league went on strike against the government so players from their moved north to Colombia to earn a quick buck.

Millonarios offered huge wages to these players (most famously Alfredo Di Stéfano). All the other clubs offered huge wages and brought in loads of Argentines and Hungarians. Unión Magdalena went out a bought the entire squad of one Hungarian team. So this was the "Golden Age". Of course much of the money was an illusion and never showed up.

The name just stuck after that. Yet they weren't miles ahead of everyone else in money terms.

Palmeiras look like they'll beat Coritiba 1-0. Down the bottom is getting fairly tight now to say the least :smiley-laughing002:

Aye, I'm sure they'll find some ineligible players if any of the Rio clubs are in trouble, namely, those red n black * :86:

Just looked at the stats there because I was going to stick that game on, looks pretty boring. Worth watching? Maybe with Cruzeiro scoring first it'll open the game up a bit. Might watch the 2nd half.
