Watched a bit of the Corinthians game the other night, looked quite comfortable against Internacional throughout what I seen of the game anyway.

Tuesday (early Wednesday morning for you). It's interesting that San Lorenzo have made it this far. Carlos Valdés is claiming that they haven't paid him in five months and he might be about to come back to MLS.

 

Yeah, he wasn't great. Held onto player because of their names along. He dragged Ronaldinho and Robinho along for years even though they did next to nothing for him. He seemed unable (and unwilling) to introduce new players into the side, such as leaving Neymar, Ganso and Alexandre Pato at home. If you look at the 2010 squad, he took a 34 year old Gilberto (failure at Spurs) instead of Marcelo as the back up, for example. This was one of the main criticisms when he was sacked, and the introduction of youth was one of the main goals for Mano Menezes.

Right now, after this WC it is very clear that Brazil needs a major clear out and new ideas. Dunga will not provide that. I can't see him leaving the counter-attacking tactics in favour of passing football (the dominant method).

His last job as a manager was a bit of failure, at Internacional. He was completely underwhelming there. He left them in a mess but to be fair to him there were a few mitigating circumstances.

But if Dunga does come back it will be as "Dopey" as his name suggests.

 

Nothing unique about that. Last year Olimpia couldn't afford all the travel costs to the second leg of the final, so their manager had to fill in.

Also heard Ángel Correa has some sort of heart problem. Still should have enough to take a lead to La Paz.
