    He will adapt as he gets older but I don't doubt for a second he will be playing well into his mid-30's and beyond.

    Modern footballers are a completely different animal.

    How many goals do you think he would score in the SPL if he played here for a season?

    He scores 40-50 goals in La Liga so it's kinda scary to think about how many he would potentially score over here.

    I reckon he has the ability to score double figure in a match. Teams in La Liga crumble when he is flying, SPL defenders would be far worse. In fact never mind the SPL, I reckon he will break the scoring record in 1 game at Barca.

    What is the record? I wouldn't imagine much players have scored 6+ in a game? He will score 6 goals in one game imo.

    I think as he gets older he will start to pick up more and more niggling injuries, he really is putting his body to the absolute limit, in the same way as Kaka did, and injuries are starting to catch up with him now. He must play between 50-60 games per season, there is only so long you can do that

    Probably even more than that when you include friendlies. Hes played about 55 already this season with about 12 games left and then he'll have a couple of Argentina friendlies before the Copa America were he could play another 5/6 games.

    Yeah fair point, once he gets to 28, 29, 30 odd I think injuries will become far more frequent, especially niggly injuries. You can't possibly play that much games, and keep up this level to his mid to late 30's. Surely he must take pain killing injections, or play through injuries some of the time, which will also catch up on him. I just hope he can maintain this level for as long as possible, an absolute genius, the best ever.

    Xavi covers the most ground out of any of them (going by the stats) and he's 32. I think the conditioning they have at Barca is incredible. Look at their squad... when's the last time they had a bunch of injuries? Villa kind of... Iniesta was bothered last year. Abidal's problems are down to health and not conditioning.
