I'll take that, 3 points even if it was a bit workmanlike! :50:

Forster- made some good saves and looked comfortable-7
Cha- defended well but distribution was patchy -6
Maj-awful, lucky Hasslebaink only has pace on his side, looked uncomfortable all day-4
Kelvin Wilson- Apart from the near OG, looked comfortable- 6
Mulgrew- quiet game but defended well-6
Forrest- looked sharp, unlucky not to score after good move near end-6
Ki- looked tired, should have scored, not at his best-5
Kayal- a bit petulant at times, along with ki never seemed to control the midfield-5
    Brown- anonymous-4
Stokes- looked sharp alongside hooper, goal wrongly ruled out-7
Hooper- back to his clinical best, 2 ruthless goals and held ball up well easily the Man of the Match-8

ledley- shored up midfield for last 5 mins well-4

all in all a far from classic performance but after the week we've had a welcome 3 points against a very decent looking st mirren side

    hail hail!

Sion is losing 0-3 at home to Servette, hardly a force aren't they ?

Not a great overall team performance, however a few players did put on a good performance today. I'm very pleased with the three points it's a great recovery from our last few results.

    Keep the faith everyone :shamrock:

Wasn't the best of performances but still a good win. St Mirren are a very good passing team and the game was a good watch tbh. Good for Hooper to get a couple of goals. Centre of defence looked very dodgy again. I thought Maj was brilliant last year but over the summer he seems to have turned into a complete bombscare. Needs to be dropped as he is going to cost us points over the course of the season. Wilson wasn't much better but that is only bad game so far.

    Forster was great today.

Thought the Stockholm game kicked off at 3.30? Can't see him getting there in time.

25 goals in 40 games for Hooper now, according to Crocker on commentary. Great start by him. He's had a few off games here and there (mainly because of that tackle by Bougherra in the Scottish Cup tie back in March), but has saved our erses more times than I care to remember in the past season and a bit.

Stoppage time winner against Dundee United, stoppage time winner against St Mirren, two goals against The Huns in February's demolition derby. Probably the best signing of the Lenny era so far.

Good 3 points today. Not the best performance but after Thursday who cares ! Thought our midfield looked really tired today. Surprised Lenny didn't give a couple of them a rest for the last 15 or 20. How he can not see our 2 best strikers are Stokes and Hooper no matter who the opposition i don't know ? Well done Hoops. Good to see Wullie Gollum is gonna have another great season !!

Had the job done early doors, played within ourselves for the rest of the match ( although st mirren did play some good stuff). Good to see Gollum has improved his officiating skills:rolleyes::rolleyes:, although some of the linesmans offside against st mirren were a joke.

Solid yet not spectacular but an inprovement on last sunday.

To be fair, a scrappy 90th minute win coming from a dive in the penalty box would have been an improvement on last week :56:

Wasn't that pretty too watch but I'll take 3 points everytime especially after the nightmare that we've endured for the past ten days.

Kayal was MOTM for me, Hooper had a good game as well.

P.s. the Nacho Novo look-a-like of a steward must have wished he'd stayed in bed today, he got some amount of stick! :celt_2:

Well we got the win and after the week we have all had that was without doubt the most important thing today. To be fair I thought the main positive was how lively we were right from kick off. Stokes's disallowed goal was clearly a dreadful call and the combination play for Hoopers first goal was superb. After that great first 10 minutes or so you have to give St Mirren credit they didn't cave in and they played some very good football at times. Although to be fair while they created a few chances considering how much ball they had they didn't do all that much. We rarely were good after that opening spell yet we actually had more clear cut chances then they did.
I felt we really missed Ledley's steady influence in midfield. Stokes and Hooper up front didn't get much service after the opening spell but they once again clearly showed for me that they are far and away our best forwards. The midfield never really got control of the game today at all and basically did just enough. Credit to Foster in goal today. Two very good saves especially the one from McGowan just after we went 2-0 up.
All in all we deserved to win based on the clear cut chances we created but not much more then that.

While midfield was average, but it was never about the performance today, all about the result, we got it and we move on to the next game.

Lenny left early to speak to Paul Dixon supposed to be.
Solid 2-0 win in what was a potential banana skin for us, and ended a bad run of play for us. Surely Lenny can see Stokes and Hooper every time now, and there is no reason for Samaras in any game. But Big Dan, kicking the ball to a guy lying on the field :54:

I only saw the first half. And we were under a lot of pressure. But we got the three points and i am more than happy with that at this stage. And Big Dan was awful. Made stupid tackles because he was too late all the time.

I was screaming at Big Dan all game. Despite his complete lack of pace, a player of his experiance should know how to handle whippets like Hasselbiank but he was beaten time and time again. If we are unable to bring in another Centre Half before the window closes then we should have Mulgrew/Rogne in the middle alongside Wilson, Izzy at LB and Matthews/Wilson at RB.

Big Dan needs to go NOW, but who else would be daft enough to sign him? :/
