Are you kidding me??? Both Billy McNeill and Mick McCarthy had excellent self-discipline. They were serious players who commanded respect. Also had good command of the language, and were automatic 1st team starters.

Not one of those things is true of Scott Brown - except perhaps automatic starter, which most certainly shouldn't be true.

I honestly find it hard sometimes to tell whether you're at the windup or not: you seem to have a strange sense of humour... :icon_mrgreen:

Erm...no one. Browns our captain, hes the best man for the job. Don't know why anyone would consider replacing him.

That's basically why I voted for Mark Wilson.

If Kelvin Wilson turns out to be a good solid defender, Maj might not be a permanent starter for me.

And in any case, unlike Maj, Mark could be our captain for the next 5 years or so...

I put joe Ledley as he is consistent , hard working and an all round good lad but thats just me but tbh Wilson or Kayal could have it but id rather an english speaker i know it sounds slightly racist but its not that i dont think he would be good i dunno

Are you saying Brown has no discipline?, He was kicked black and blue last Saturday and didn't retaliate. No bookings this season.Without Brown in our first two league games we struggled in midfield.

amazing how under MON we had loads of guys (Boyd, Lambert, Lubo, Henrik, Lenny, McNamara, Stubbs etc.) who could have captained us

Now it's just Broony, Maj and possibly Mulgrew

No bookings this season??? FFS - that's cos we've only played three league games, and he was banned from two of them due to his poor discipline last season. :56:

Personally, I think he has been shoite for three years.

With Ledley, Ki, Kayal now at the club, I think maybe we missed the boat when he could have went for 8 mill a few years ago.

By the way, Ledley is Wales youngest ever captain!

Kayal for me, by a country mile. If not then Ledley:50:

Mark Wilson ain't good enough to be captain IMO. Was great last season but I think he's no better than average:rolleyes:

Mark 'hoof the ball down the line to nobody' Wilson shouldn't be an automatic starter never mind captain. I like the lad but if I were manager his place in the team would be hanging in the balance.

What a pishy thread ! Why didnt you make it a get rid of Broony thread. I thought last night he was one of the few who tried to make things happen and fair enough sometimes they didn't come off he kept trying. He did tire towards the end but he gave his all last night and fair due to him he deserves to be captain as he is one in the team who knows what we want and he tries his best to give it.And on the subject of last night he was one of the few with pass marks despite what some of the Broony slaggers might say
