Cha Du Ri

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by S69, Aug 18, 2011.

  1. It just baffles me that you say this, when i cannot remember an occasion when we conceded a goal because of him. Nor can i remeber a winger get the better of him. Ive seen cha playing for SK against top oppositions and he ALWAYS shuts down any wingers that tries to beat him. Caught out defensively? you mean all the time when cha chases an opposition down and puts in a tackle? can you tell me a single full back who does not get caught out defensively as a result of overlapping? As for mark wilson, he clearly showed tonight his limitations, he is a decent consistent performer, whom against fast wingers will struggle.

  2. I genuinely don't care at all about his international performances.

Mark Wilson played out of position and still had a better game than Cha ffs! You talk about Wilson's limitations and then talk up Cha, you couldn't make it up.

The guy sitting next to me at the game tonight summed it up nicely - Cha looks like a rabbit caught in headlights when he plays.

  3. Cha was my man of the match tonight. His pace is incredible. Hope to see more
of him in this form. Didn't think Wilson had a good game tonight he was out of position I suppose but cha was miles better

  4. Please instead of telling me other ways and words to slate cha. Tell me specific event or areas of his game you think is pish and back up your argument. All you are saying is "Cha is *, because i said so". Of course you are entitled to your own opinion but im just curious over your reasoning for your stance. I personally cant see limitations in his games like you do. He has mega-solid body balance and is NEVER bumped off the ball and is probably the fastest player in the spl. Not to mention how he utilizes that pace to cover for our fullbacks constantly. I also cant see how you failed to notice his attacking presence, he constantly got up and down the pitch tonight and actually provided GOOD balls into the areas which sammy should have put at least one of them away.

  5. I thought Cha was very good today, MOTM by a country mile.

  6. I've already told you the areas of his game which I don't rate, and why I don't like him as a player at all. You even quoted that specific post.

  7. You said Cha is getting caught out. And i asked you when did he ever get caught out? All i can remember is him chasing down wingers and putting in a good tackle. So i think your argument is invalid unless you can convince me otherwise (of course you dont have too :icon_mrgreen:)

  8. I think he did ok. He wasn't amazing.

  9. He gets caught out often when he plays.

An example off the top of my head from tonight - Cha was well out of position, and made little attempt to get back and close down their winger. That then resulted in big Dan having to come out of position and cover for him hence leaving a further gap in the middle of our box.

  10. One of the very few who looked half decent last night.

  11. And i asked you name me a single fullback who does not get caught out of position as a result of overlapping. Lets take Izzy for example, he gets caught out of position all the time and ledley covers for him, is he * dire as well?

  12. The example I gave wasn't the result of a quick break up the park though, he was just aimlessly strolling about the park whilst out of position.

Emilio has nothing to do with this at all but is 10x the player Cha is.

  13. Thought he played quite well. Covered when Maj got caught out once or twice. His pace could honestly be a game saver sometimes. He gets back so quickly.

  14. See this is where i am confused, you expect Cha to be marking 2 players at the same time? So when a through ball is put to the right side of the pitch it is automatically Cha's ultra * positioning? So can you now name a fullback who does not let a through ball past him? According to your principles, a team with a good fullback should not get beaten at all on the wings? Aimlessly strolling around the park is also * bullshit you are talking unfortunately, although i do not remember the specific occasion, i can promise you he would have been marking or at least have been doing something. I just think you have some bad misconceptions about Cha, that you cannot judge him fairly. Every time a ball is connected to the right side "Cha is *", "Cha cant defend". The fact is that cha does ample good defending and is caught off position on few occasions just like every other fullbacks on the planet.

Where did I say I wanted him marking 2 players at a time. I would expect him to at least make an attempt to mark their winger though.

Another example tonight of poor defending from him was when he put in a half-hearted attempt to tackle their winger which then led to big Dan trying to bail him out again. Their player goes down and they have a free kick in a dangerous position just outside the box which could have cost us big time.

  15. What i'm trying to point out is that you expect Cha to do something all the time when no one else on the planet can do it all time. So you overlook 10 times when cha covers for maj and shuts down the Center forward, but it is a fatal error that maj covers for cha? Logically speaking, A CB covering a RB should be seen as a natural occurrence of modern day football when you are trying to argue that a CB covering a RB is a fatal flow on the part of RB? Sounds * to me. An attempt the mark their winger? as ive said he more than competently marks and shuts down wingers vast majority of the time, hence i said no winger in the spl can get the better of him because he is faster and stronger than all of them.

  16. If that's what you think then you're entitled too. I couldn't disagree more but there's nothing I will be able to do to change your mind and vice versa.

  17. Yea mate. Although i couldnt disagree more with you, i still respect you opinion :50:

  18. Was our best player earlier

  19. I think people are stubborn about Celtic players. Minds are made up within a few games whether they like them or not and then it becomes really difficult to change their opinion. I think the optimists among us really appreciate Cha, where as the pessimists will drive him down the same road as Samaras.
