Zaluska made one clean sheet. Tim Krul is a Holland international. Pardew is a plank whose judgement means nothing.

Better than Zaluska probably but will be exposed if we get into the group stages in Europe against better teams. He's too ponderous for me and doesn't command his box nearly often or good enough.

Surely we could have got better.

I find it a little sad that people are trying to belittle the role Fraser Forster played in us keeping all those clean sheets last season.

It wasn't solely down to Fraser Forster that we kept those clean sheets, of course it wasn't, but he was obviously a central part of the good defensive record we had.

If Artur Boruc had kept all those clean sheets last season people would be raving about it and saying it proves how good Boruc is. Why can't Forster just be given the credit for the job he done?

Aye, Shearer is. But anyway, you're going back years. We have Forster NOW and he has progressed since those managers were in charge. His kicking improved so much with us.

How do you know, watch much of newcastle reserve football did you?:bbpd:

His kicking has not improved, that's a myth, his kicking towards the end of the season was as bad as the start, only none of them costed us.

Let's be honest Alsy, it is!

Look at that huns team, one of the worst i've seen, managed to finish on 95 points, despite us taking 8 off them.

Not happy or unhappy. Hopefully as a young keeper we will see him improve.

    Wonder why that is?

And he's improved since he joined us - that was my point. He has gone from loans in lower leagues and climbed up them to us. I don't tend to claim a player I've never even seen is better than another.

I may be belittling it, but only to the credit that he deserves, he did okay last season, and made a number of great saves, he is a good shotstopper, and I don't deny that.

but, that 20 odd clean sheets aren't all down to him like some on here are suggesting.

Good for you for assuming that was a GK's job I always thought that a goalkeeper had to keep goals out and a lot of goals he conceded a better goalkeeper would have kept out for example Steven Davis goal in the cup final now a guy his height should have got down quicker any more u want me to point out just ask??

Maybe he had a reliable mate tell him and then decided it was a fact.

Happy with this. We must have put in a power of work behind the scenes to make this happen, they weren't for budging come the tail end of last season.

Clearly the club's number 1 goalkeeping target despite the varied opinions of him.

How do you know he has improved since he joined us?

there was no great surge in form from him.

Surely if Forster kept a lot of clean sheets he was keeping goals out? :97:

So all the good things Forster did last season go out the window because of a couple of softish goals he let in?

If you're waiting for the perfect goalkeeper to come along you'll be waiting a * of a long time.

    Aye, maybe eh.

Perhaps sandomierski isn't better, I was just going on other people's opinions on him.

    Which i shouldn't do.
