I'd be happy to get him. He's pretty good now and he is only going to get better.

because you can afford a player doesnt mean he would consider moving to scotland.

He may have 24 shut out which has to include the defence.

I can remember 2 or 3 good saves over the season but I also remember the goals that Rangers scored against us.

Davis Outside the box low into the corner
Jelavic Outside the box low into the corner
Millar in the box low into the corner

Not once did Forster get down to any of them.

He doesn’t relay come out for crosses either.

I would much prefer we pushed the boat out and got Given, you just need to take a look at the Scotland v Ireland game to see what class is.

He did well for us last season. A steady player.

I would love Given but the price tag is obviously too rich for a player of his age.

Given isn't really needed - no point spending that sort of money on a goalkeeper tbh.

We were interested in PLetikosa before we got Boruc. He's a * fine keeper, played well against us for Spartak Moscow

Was ok as a stop-gap player last season.

Had some terrific saves, and some AWFUL attempts as well.

The stats of his clean sheets is not totally down to him....the fact that there were games where he stood and had * all to do, and the fact teams where playing so defensively at CP added to his tally.

Would prefer a more experienced Goalkeeper this year....preferably one with a bit of European experience.

were teams not defending in previous seasons though?

Our defence was ok last season but nothing brilliant.

    Welcome Padmill :icon_mrgreen:

I think the fact that he is 22 and performed well, clearly showed improvement towards the end of last season bodes well. If we can get him for £2m I think it's a no brainer.

Put it this way outside of * Bonar and Artur Boruc I haven't seen a better keeper at Celtic and that spans a * of a lot of years right there.

    Agreed.

I would rather spend money on defence and attack so Given is out with our reach imo.

    Forster will do

Forsters an average keeper on last seasons viewing.

He should catch more balls in the air and really needs to work on his anticipation as he's slow going down for low shots.

i'd say 1mill take it or leave it.

    howdy bud! :56::56:

I think he did reasonably well mate:56:....I don't doubt that.

Yes he is 22...and most are ASSUMING that he will improve....

But £2m for someone who could easily end up like a David Marshall etc and not improve, whereas it seems that there are experienced and steady keepers...possibly with experience of playing in Europe......i would go with the tried and tested keepers:50:

He is young, he will learn and he has something that is very, very hard to come by in keepers - concentration.

Yeah, you said the stats were down to a number of things including teams not attacking etc....that happended in other season with Boruc, a better keeper but Forster had great shut out record.

    Thats all :50:
