I think it is all about making things clear to certain players, we can't string them along if they are no longer good enough.

I fear for Big Dan if he plays against Jelavic and Naismith in two weeks.

 

Agreed, I fear a Hooper/Weir-esque moment but not in our favour.

As I said in the match thread, I was a big fan of Majstorovic last year. I think he really shored up the defence and was the key to us breaking the clean sheet records. But he has suddenly turned into an complete bombscare. Lenny needs to drop him before he costs us points which could prove critical at the end of the season

 

Very true but can confidence come into this as well though? I mean, wasn't Loovens pretty decent the first season or so as well then he started going through a rough time, confidence was affected because of it so he became a liability as well?

I agree that Majstorovic should be dropped though. Has been building up with him for a while now and for me he should have been dropped after the Sion away game after that ridiculous tackle

 

I think the big man has been woeful lately, but probalem is how do we drop him?

Am i missing someone here? I know Mark Wilson can fill in at CB, but i'm not sure thats the answer.

I always said we shouldn't have sent Darren O'Dea on loan.

 

I like big dan as well, no nonsense defender, yeah he's been a bit scatty for this season but there all human and no cyborgs so its granted mistakes creep in when we could do without it, humans always make mistakes, better to get behind the man that was instrumental last season keeping our defence the best in the SPL, i know that counts for eff all cos we didnt win it but hey. Most our defenders in the past have had horror shows as with a lot of players so i would hope big dan gets his * sorted out sooner rather than later. Maybe being dropped for a few will give him the boot up the * he needs lol.

 

Darren O'Dea has had all the chances he is ever going to get off us, he hasn't exactly set the heather ablaze at any club he has been on loan to, that plus the fact there is no club actively seeking to sign him up on a permanent basis. Rogne appears to be injury prone although he did look the part in earlier appearances. Hooiveldt, is a no chance, and Josh Thompson, is too cumbersome, and clueless.

 

Passing to a player who as lying on the ground sums this chancer up.

 

Mulgrew in at centre half and Wilson left back!! Dan will keep diving in and giving away needless fouls and misjudging balls in the air which allows strikers to run in behind him. He wouldnt even catch Davie Weir in a race hes that slow. I dont like bashing Celtic players but this guy cost us a good few points last season, and he will do the same this year. I would play Loovens over him, thats how much i dont want him in the first 11

 

i was a big maj fan but now find it hard to stick up for him, i think he's suffering from a massive confidence knock and to be honest i cant see him getting over it any time soon.

 

Good player to have on the bench, I rate him higher than Majstorivic and he seems to have made a spot in the Republic of Irelands defence his own. Knows what Celtic are all about and can cover left back as well.

Not the best player in the world but certainly a better option than the likes of Hooiveld.

 

darren o'dea became a victim of the circumstances which has seen us sign CB after CB....he was moved out to make room for new signings who were supposedly better players....
wilson and o'dea would be my prefered pairing from what we have.

we have 9 cbs on the books if you include wanyama who, its been said, is here to be moulded as cb

wilson,maj,loovens,mulgrew, hooiveld,rogne,wanyama, o'dea, thompson.

the only ones id keep from that bunch are wilson,mulgrew,rogne,o'dea,wanyama

but who's gonna take maj,loovens,hooiveld off us??

we dont have time to mould wanyama...

I think everyone's worrying about nothing. He's played his last game for the Hoops

 

I wouldn't count on it.

He should never have played yesterday and yet he started.

We've not even been linked with another CB which is pretty worrying.

 

if dan plays the whole season we can forget about the league imo
