I have always said Loovens is miles better than Majstorovic. Loovens has been made to look bad with this utter panic merchant beside him.

Loovens has looked bad next to every defender he's played with at Celtic. Loovens on form is better than him, however there is far too many clangers dropped by Loovens. Whose confidence goes to * then he turns into the worst defender I've ever seen.

I can't say the same about Maj, despite his faults.

Strachan signed his share of garbage players as well. I think Neil Lennon has done well in the transfer market considering how little money he's had to work with.

I have always stuck up for Maj, as last season i thought he was excellent for us, especially against the huns. So far this season though, i have been very unimpressed, none more so than Sunday there vs St Johnstone, he was shocking. Every high ball he just mis-judges and it just floats right over his head. If he can regain his form of last season then he is a great defender. Maybe his legs have gone.

Some of Lennon's signings have been good like Stokes, Kayal, Izzyguire, and Hooper but some have been rank like Murphy, Majstorovic, Cha, Juarez and Llunberg, but I blame Mjalby for the two dummies Maj and Llunberg.
Cha is a hopeless defender and there are still question marks over Izzy's defending, Wanyama it is too early to say yet.Matthews is a work in project. It is experienced and disciplined players we should be looking to sign who will fit right into the team, and give it instant cohesion and strength

Its come to the point i want loovens back at CH rather than maj, that is saying something and loovens can actually header a * ball and gives us some kind of threat from set pieces which no other ch we have does.

for me rogne,s the standout cb we have ...id go with wilson and wanyama as a pairing just while other players are injured maj looked terrible against st.jonstone..very nervy...he gets beaten by balls over the top wich is ridiculous with the size of him...we need another cb...

Happy to go with Wilsona dn any one from Loovens and Rogne to partner. Not ideal but we are not gonna sign an accomplished CH to partner Wilson fact !

MAJ can go now for me one of the worst players ever to wear the hoops. He may have been good once but that was then. Never feel confident with him in the team.:47:

Far from it. He has had a bad start to this season, but to say he is one of the worst players ever to wear the hoops? He was excellent last season, he had Jelavic in his back pocket every OF game he played, and the one he didn't play Jelavic ran a mock (cup final). That is no coincidence.

Bomb scare never rated him never will he is not even best of a bad bunch. Big Mulgrew was more of a stand out last season at CB than MAJ was and thats not even his position.

No not Mr Doom and Gloom .....

Question, if we get another decent CH who will get dropped Wilson or MAJ ?
When Loovens is fit will MAJ keep his place ?
When Rogne gets fit will MAJ keep his place?

My assumption on MAJ isnt based on 1 game as you imply (Mr Doom and Gloom) he is passed his sell by date, there is nothing wrong in that, time catches up with us all. Stevie Wonder can see that any ball over his head and he is beat for pace, he can only head one way and usually straight to the opposition and if you are telling me that you are happy with that standard of CH at the back then I will have a packet of what you are smoking :bbpd:

I thought that Wanyama caused more problems to Majstorovic on Sunday than the St Johnstone forwards did. Wanyama`s positioning at times was terrible, however on a 1v1 contest he managed to redeem his earlier error ( Wanyama as a centre half is best described as a work in progress).

The situation with the defence is similar to that of last year, we are having to chop and change game by game at the moment. It is important that the same people play consistantly in defence, as we did have eventually half way through the last season.

Izzaguirre, Loovens and Kelvin Wilson, were missing from the start of the season. Mulgrew was in and he`s now injured. Cha Du Ri played in europe, Matthews started on sunday, Wanyama made his debut in his second choice position.

None of these guys have had a sustained period in the first team and as I mentioned earlier getting a settled defence will see an improvement.

Was at Lennoxtown yesterday and for the second time he was last in, a few minutes late, and one of the first to come out. Dedication eh?

I don't think your visit can then be taken as the norm for the guy and then used to slate him on here

I was a big fan of him when I seen him against Utrecht at home. He was commanding, powerful and a leader but unfortunetly he has slowly declined and Is no longer the same player, He looks shot of confidence and often is caught out with pace, the likes of John Terry have lost their pace ( and to a lesser extent Weir) but they still have the mental awareness and positioning, I think Big Dan has lost that,IMO.

I would like him to still be a part of the team but come the end of the season I think he should retire or leave ( His contract is up though) and hopefully Rogne will take the step up.

He was late the last time I visited, and spoke to a few people outside and they said he's always been last and first out. Just saying. If players perform poorly surely they should be putting in the extra hours on the training ground.
