Was wondering what peoples opinions of Dan is in Sweden?

 

You gotta be joking? I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think in this situation it's fact that Maj isn't good enough. I personally have been quite impressed with Wilson, especially after nearly a whole season on the side lines last year.
Were you at the game on Saturday? We wouldn't have conceded at all if it wasn't for the biggest man on the park not being able to head..(although Zaluska did his best to * a few up).
Who was the big man for Dundee United by the way?? He looked a player and won a lot of headers from their corners, something we really lack. Our corner to goal ratio last year was embarrassing.

I think Wilson made a couple of good challenges throughout, especially the one where United wanted a penalty, from where I was my first thought was great tackle.
I just get a bit on edge when Maj is in there.
I have always said that I think with a vocal & organised keeper behind him he might be a bit better because his decision making isn't great.
I also think that some of Wilson's poor clearances were partly down to that.

 

Big Dan seems to have lost a bit of pace but he still is a quality defender. Cant understand the stick he gets as he made our defence the best in the league

 

I would say the dominance and quality of the Midfield 4 made the defense the best in the league. We will get found out against a good European side.

 

Aye he is quite popular even thouge some would rather see Jonas Olsson before him, he has been absolutely brilliant in the PL.
Still number 1 though even that we didnt qualify for the world cup and lot of people wanted a genaration change.

dan is crap. very slow and his positional sence is shocking. he will cost us points if we continue to play him. we need another centre half with pace because if kelvin gets injured we are *.

I seriously think Maj could cost us the championship, as he is pitifully slow, and he is going into tackles rashly now because he can't cope with speedy forwards or midfielders, always a bad sign a defender is on the slippery slope.I would like to see Big Charlie partnering Kelvin Wilson instead, and switch (M) Wilson to left back, with Matthews at right back.

 

He's not that slow for *'s sake!!! When was he shown up for pace against United or any other team this season? I can't think of any of these rash tackles you're mentioning. He's our second fastest centre-back.

 

This i don't get from people. Drop Maj fair enough but to replace him with a LB then Replace Mulgrew(LB) to replace him with our RB to LB. Madness.

No one player will cost us anything, its a team sport and it was the same team that i saw cost us the league over the festive period, ICT and the draw at Scumbrox.

Honestly Conor, I can assure you that's not true. Mulgrew isn't the fastest but he's considerably faster than Maj. Wilson is much, much faster and Loovens isn't much slower than Wilson. I would be very surprised indeed if Maj is any faster than Rogne, or indeed Hooiveld. If we're including Wanyama then there's another one who's considerably faster than Maj.

I thought Maj was excellent at the weekend. He can be a bit unreliable at times but he certainly knows how to defend, and I think his experience, leadership and positional awareness are real assets. If he can cut out the silly mistakes then he'll be a vital player for us as far as I'm concerned.
