i cant comment and neither can most anyone, because most of us (excluding the oldies :56:) werent around during the time of the greats of football. Barca are one of the best at the moment, as are Real Madrid.

Not too sure about Madrids signings this summer. Sahin should be a good signing but is probably seen as one for the future. Varane will be the same. Coentrao, 30 mill for a player who, imo, isn't any better than Marcelo, is a stupid signing. Altintop was struggling to get into the Bayern team so I cant see him getting into Reals. Dont think Callejon is good enough for Madrid either. They seem to have been bought for strength in depth but Madrid don't need that, they need to be buying players who are going to improve the starting team and compete with Barca

if barca and real were at their best obcourse their would be a contest !
first game of the season was a one off because it was a new team . (as was ours against the huns . you wouldnt say they would hump us would they ? ) the 4 classicos showed that there isnt a great difference in quality althoug theres no denying barca are the greatest team on the planet hence the european championship

    Cheers.

I must be honest, the only player on that list I'm familiar with is Hamit Altintop. Are the other guys good? By good I mean, are they likely to close the gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona this season?

Sahin and Coentrao are good, both young though, and may not even start all the time, Varane is a prospect and the other 2 will be squad players

Real Madrid starts with the same line-up as last Sunday, except for Coentrao replacing Marcelo

Uefa's fault. They don't like any games being shown on tv at the same time as CL ties.
