    Broony!
Don't know why but I wouldn't be surprised to see Sion let off with a slap on the wrists and us playing domestic football.

If the rules have been breached and the punishment is clear then the punishment should befit the crime - however, it appears that the timing of the crime is an issue and that the punishment is not yet determined - far too grey an area at present but I just get a feeling that we're not winning this one!

    Hope I'm wrong!

Either way roll on Friday so we can move on, one way or the other!

    Hail Hail

Aye, really not raising my hopes. Just can't see UEFA making such a drastic decision. Will probably be a fine or something, but here's hoping.

Letters that appeared in the Swiss press (Le Matin) today. One of them is in English (UEFA to Celtic and SFA). UEFA confirms that the players are qualified, but does not exclude any countermeasures. http://static.lematin.ch/fcsion.pdf

It is also interesting to read Constantin's argument for going to Civil court. He is referring to the CAS rules, which state that:
"In agreeing to submit to these Procedural Rules any dispute subject to appeal arbitration proceedings, the parties expressly waive their rights to request such measures from state authorities. This waiver does not apply to provisional or conservatory measures in connection with disputes subject to ordinary arbitration proceedings."

It says that YOU and the Swiss FA claim that the players are qualified, not that they actually are. We already knew this hence why UEFA are taking action. Dont spin words.

Celtic and its fans surely won't get *. If anybody does, it's the players of Sion. They beat your team on the pitch with a great performance, especially in the second leg. Surely the greatest underdog victory in any of the EL qualifiers. And now they might get told that it was all for nothing. You guys should be grateful Sion fielded these "inelegible players". This gives you a little hope to get back in. UEFA just should have settled this before the 1st game. It's not like they didn't know about the issue for weeks. This is just about the worst thing that can happen to a team, its manager and its fans. And I don't mean Celtic.

Mediocre performance based on the fact you played against ten men and had to resort to cheating by fielding ineligible players as you knew you wouldnt not have won otherwise. Our strongest, fittest squad would easily beat your tream mate.

    Dont kid urself.

oh boo hoo, our hearts fecking bleed.

sion played players knowing full well they were ineligible, and one of them scored twice; hence its cheating, simple cheating and itll be a travesty if UEFA dont boot out a club that has knowingly cheated is way to the group stage.

EDIT: did i mention Sion CHEATED ?

So its the Sion players who will get * eh ? Does that include the ones ineligible to play ya muppet. No sympathy for them, your club cheated, or thought they were above the rules, now you should be booted out of this years and banned for a future 3 years for trying it on ! But hey we are used to being * over by the SFA, so we probably don't expect too much from UEFA. But if they don't boot you out, then they make themselves look idiots and bigger cheats than you !

its a very simple case for me, legal issues aside if Sion are not kicked out and say hit with a 200k fine, this will only incentivise the bigger richer clubs to ignore rules as this precendent of only getting fines will have been set, so we could see Man city signing half a new squad during in january and play them in CL final if they thought they were only going to suffer a 200k fine.
As Blatter put it yesterday, its not an issue that these players are not eligable to be employees of Sion FC (this is the legal argument put forward by Sion) the issue is that these players are not allowed play in certain competitions.
Blatter & Co i'm sure were just wishing Celtic knocked Sion out which would have avoided this whole mess.
i'd be very suprised if we are not instated at their expense.
