My reason for wanting to see us in EL, too.

:50: Some people on here seem to think the whole of Europe are laughing at us (and Rangers/Scottish football) for going out tonight. They also think we'd be a laughing stock for going through by default. The reality is that very few people with no relation to Celtic will know about tonight. Even fewer will care. Like it or not, we're not a massive club any more, our exit wont send shockwaves around the footballing world.

If we get the chance to progress then we should embrace our second chance (whether we deserve it or not).

Whats the chances that UEFA decide to throw them out but then declare a random draw with all beaten teams in the play off round included to decide who replaces them?

Not likely I guess but UEFA couldn't be too enthusiastic about having performances like Celtic gave tonight once the group stages start.

Well in a way you could say expertly advised. This guy has some of the best lawyers in the business. But the Chairman is a loonball, a complete nutjob and has probably done this without consultation and will then seek the help of these lawyers. He's never out of court.

In 2003 Sion ended up in deep doodoo financially and lost their professional licence and where ordered to play in the 3rd division. Constantin took them to court and got placed in the 2nd division. In 2004 he kicked a linesman in the nuts (The linesman then fainted) He was suspended for 2 and a half years by the Swiss FA. Constantin took them to court and had it reduced to 4 Months.

Then what started this whole problem. He signed a Goalkeeper from Aly-Alhy (or however it's spelt) but the club never sanctioned the move. He basically just turned up and started playing for them. Aly-Alhy took him to the Court of Arbitration where a two year transfer embargo was imposed on the club. This was season 2010-11.

Undeterred, Constantin goes and buys 5 Players for this seaason. The Swiss FA tell him that these guys are ineligible to play. So Constantin tells them he is going to file a 17 million quid compensation claim against them and take him to court. So this is where Fifa step in and say, Oi, No football matters should be taking to court as it's against the rules. If you do end up in court then All swiss clubs not just Sion will be excluded from european competition and the Swiss national team will be excluded from the Euro Champs. So the Swiss FA allow the players to play in the league and Uefa step in and say, don't think theses players are playing in Europe but and Constantin says, shut, it I'll take you to court aswell.

So this is the headache now for Uefa and Fifa because Both Uefa and Fifa are chartered in Switzerland. Constantin wants to show both organisations that football is not above the law. However, all Major sports around the world refuse any arrangement by court within their sport. It's the rules. If the big man does take them on their could be massive consequences, not just of football but pretty much every major sport.

It just wouldn't feel right going through that way. I'm sorry, but Sion deserve it more than we do.

The players that shouldn't have played caused the damage, pascal dude scored two goals against us tonight, take those two goals out and we would have been in the group stage, cheap way of possibly going through but uefa have been spouting this hard line stance, and this is a chance to prove they mean business.

Nonsense. Sion don't deserve to be anywhere near a football park mate. They constantly break the rules at any given chance and the chairman is * bent on destroying the game worldwide for his own sick gratification.

Why the games were even allowed to go ahead in the first place was rediculous imo. It's cheating but not even sneakily like a card up the sleeve.... Blantant bare-faced cheating. Refs should have ordered the teams off in the first leg untill it was resolved - they all knew the script before kick off.

Bud, he makes Romanov look like a Juvenile. Constantin is the leader in the booting managers league table. Literally. The current Manager is the 30th to have worked under him. He has fired 20 managers since 2003 in which period he even managed the team himself. During a game he ran down to the dugout and kicked one of the managers he employed.

    The guys a proper nuts.

I thought that it would be unfair to them if they won and then got kicked out and would almost make us kind of seem like the cheats since we were getting through without actually winning but after actually reading what has happened with them, i don't think i'd mind it.

Would get a lot of abuse from some Rangers pals but really, this isn't even accidental minor advantages. This is half a team who shouldn't have played and they were told that.
We were all worried whether or not we would get a GK in time for the wildcard slot and if we hadn't made it but played him in the second leg i'm pretty sure we wouldn't just get away with it.

Exactamundo. This guy is just doing what he wants. And now both Uefa & Fifa can't b seen to making empty threats. But do they really want a court case in the country they are based about whether or not the law applies to football. Uefa & Fifa or either going to bottle it or we could end up with the biggest football court case ever where the principles and beliefs on which these organisations are grounded on are suddenly quashed by 10 smart * laywers that have probably never kicked a ball in their life.

    TBH it doesn't matter!

The focus is, always is and always has been the league.

If this does happen and we end up on the EL by default then so be it - you never know, we may just take it by storm!

Well this is true also I guess. I heard Kennydal saying that for a decent run in the Europa league you need to play 60+ games a season. Too much for this Celtic for sure, BUT. I would take the money that it generates. We need it badly.

Haha, I doubt it. Because they would probably just get banned for the following season anyway and fined. This has been because he promised that Sion would be a major force in Europe a few seasons ago. Thats why he bought these players. To play in Europe.

if they did, i'd hope that if we had any shred of dare i say it, 'dignity', we would reject the place, would be a shoddy way to go through.

Lennon has already Sent 2 letters to to delegates about Sion losing their place. He'll be taking it. And so He should. Again, Sion are a club that make up their own rules, that shouldn't be the case.

What would have happened if say these 5 players where Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Villa and Buffon and we got pumped 20-0. Would you still not want to their place in the next round. The Quality of players they fielded Illegally is not the issue it's the principle.
