I know, we lost. And it's embarrassing.

But if the team still has any chance of going through, would you still say "Nope. Sorry, can't do that. I'd be too embarrassed. You take your money and your big match-ups and give them to someone else."?

Of course not. You'd take the lifeline you'd just been given.

I can't see it happening, and it's not the ideal way to progress, but I'd still have no complaints if Sion were thrown out and we were sent in their place.

The bottom line is that Sion broke the rules which can have a devastating impact financially on other clubs, not just in the qualification rounds. CAS has already ruled against Sion in 2010 which lead to the transfer embargo. So now Glasgow Celtic have a duty as a Business to make sure they are not Politically out-manouevred by a very sly and cunning club that seem to be breaking rules whenever it suits them. Twice in a year now. Step forward Mr. Reid, It's your turn to earn your money. Irregardless of how pish we were tonight. Rules are rules.

I'm actually super confident we will go through. The only problem I can see is that, if Fifa and Uefa don't have the backbone to throw them out after winning, then we'll more than likely find them dragging the process on, so it's too late to throw them out this year and impose a ban starting from next year. Now that would be bollocks.

Some of you guys are ridiculous. Should Ireland not have protested when they lost to France because they beat them fair and square? If you field ineligible players and they help win you the game, then they can * off and don't deserve to go through. It's embarrassing, but rules are rules.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It's a matter of how long they take to make a decision. Which they could have done after the first leg and they wouldn't be in this mess.

We might be poor, but we aren't cheaters. And cheaters should get punished.

Isnt the europa league draw tomorrow? If so then why is the hearing tuesday? If we were to replace Sion in whatever group they get drawn in then it would throw the groups into chaos as im sure we'd be a good pot or two above them?

If they did break the rules as much as I feel we don't deserve it we really should be progressing as rules are rules and uefa will be leaving themselves wide open if they don't act.does anyone know the full ins and outs of this situation

If Sion broke the rules, they should be kicked out of the competition.

Should Celtic take the spot of cheating opposition? Yes, most definitely.

New bhoy here- gotta say I agree that Uefa were hoping we would take the monkey off their backs - we didn't...so now we'll see if the monkey has got them by the bollocks.....if they actually have any...hail hail!

I'd be comfortable with us getting into whatever group Sion are drawn into. Up against harder teams, but that's the punishment we'll have to pay for not getting the job done.

    Here's hoping.

Some points I would like to make:

Athletic Bilbao made it to the group stage today on a technicality as well. Their first match finished 0-0 against Trabzonspor and the 2nd was canceled due to Trabzonspor replacing Fenerbache and they automatically qualified for the group stage. Do you think they are embarrassed or wouldn't take the spot regardless?

2nd: All this * about Sion are a diddy team and whatnot, check out some of these scores.

Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-2 (agg) Panathinaikos
    Metalist Kharkiv 4-0 (agg) Sochaux
    Slovan Bratislava 2-1 (agg) Roma
Legia Warsaw 5-4 (agg) Spartak Moscow
    Maribor 3-2 (agg) Rangers

Sevilla and Burssapor are also out.

    * happens, we are not the only ones. Agreed that we shouldn't be losing to the likes of Sion, but I think some on here are overreacting a bit. If we had pumped St. Johnstone last week than I think some people would be a little less * off.

I hope the board realize that we definitely need a new striker and for the love of * replace Majstorovic with a better defender. If we get the chance to replace Sion, you take (they did cheat after all).

Don't care about the embarrassment, if they're playing players that shouldn't be there then that is cheating and therefore we have been cheated out of the competition.

All I care about is the money which will help us with signings and being able to bring in signing targets with the lure of European football. Who knows, by the time the group stages come round we might even have got our arses in gear.
