    Just an update on this guys:

    FC SION could be kicked out of the Europa League over their transfer ban row with FIFA - even if they don't play their new signings against Celtic on Thursday.
    The Swiss side are facing the ultimate sanction after FIFA and UEFA ganged up on them for naming five summer recruits in their squad for the trip to Glasgow.
    Ex-Hearts defender Jose Goncalves, Mario Mutsch, Billy Ketkeophomphone, Gabri and Pascal Feindouno were all on the list, despite FIFA's insistence that a two-window transfer embargo does not end until January.
    Sion have taken their fight to the Court of Arbitration for Sport but won't know the verdict until after their two-leg play-off with Celts.
    In a strongly-worded statement issued to Sion - and co-signed by FIFA - UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino said: "If it turns out players on this list are not eligible to play, they and also the club risks sanctions by UEFA and FIFA.
    "Also the Swiss FA could face disciplinary sanctions, having verified and approved the player list."
    Should the CAS rule in favour of FIFA, Sion could face a huge fine and expulsion from UEFA competition, with the Swiss FA also in hot water for rubber-stamping their squad list to face Celts.
    A UEFA spokesperson confirmed: "The statement applies to the naming of the squad last week and is valid regardless of whether or not the players play against Celtic."

    If you knew it would get you in hot water why would you name them in your squad? Why would the swiss FA allow that and UEFA? How stupid can you * be!? Its like they are deliberatly trying to get kicked out of europe!!

    right ive not been reading too much about this, which is probably why im confused .. but what i THINK is happening here, is Sion have named players in their squad who are cup tied?

    because when im reading it its not making sense! is it something to do with this rule about not allowed to have 2 clubs in a year or something?

    Something to do with inducing Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary to break his contract with Cairo-based club Al Ahli in 2008. so UEFA banned them from making any signings for 2 years, but they have and they are planning on playing them is the jist of it i think

    Sion getting thrown out? What are the chances?

    What are the chances of Sion getting disqualified because of the ineligable players and when will we find out? It's embarrassing that we have to resort to this.
