Great result. I was quite worried about this fixture going into today's game, as well. Very pleased we picked up 3 points and managed to look convincing, and clinical in-front of goal, as well.

Unfortunate Hooper picked up a knock, but at least he's back on the score sheet.

houston probably watched aberdeen getting away with murder last week and thought hed try the same ,refs useless today again teams allowed to kick lumps out of our players cause there not good enough to compete
izzy and hooper both injured by reckless lunges and the masons in black did nothing to stamp this * out in either the last two matches. both injuries should have been avoided had them * been doing their job properly

that was a ok tackle, just a freak accident what happened to izzy but the tackle on hooper was sickening.

Great result for Glasgow's Green & White today, I absolutely love watching us play when we're on form like that.

Having been on holiday during the first two SPL games, that's the first I've seen of this season and I'm very optimistic about the coming season. Big Kelvin Wilson looks very good, as does this new looks Davie Ki, he was amazing today. Stokesy looks like a man possessed, as I said the other day, he'll be a hunskelper for sure this season.

    I just can't get enough! :celt_2:

Are you * kidding me?! Was a brutal tackle only because he knew he was beaten by Hooper. And he went unpunished,

What a player that wee boy russell is! If he's a tim we should be signing him up lol

Great job today although I don't think that the game overall really reflected the scoreline it was quite bizarre at times :56:a few hairy moments and I'm not quite sure what was wrong with the defence today...couldn't make up my mind if they were trying to protect the goallie or they were all a bit nervey. Whatever I could see Lenny going his dinger at them :56:

delighted withthe result and particularly the second half performance; ki, brown and stokes were my men of the match! :50:

defence still looks ropey and zaluska despite making some excellent saves still doesnt inspire a lot of confidence; and hopefully hooper's okay, that was a disgraceful late tackle from dixon :47:

as for unt, i thought they were disgraceful today with their tackling, always leaving the boot in and i noticed they kept going for browns ankle; being scotland assistant manager must help eh peter you bitter old baw sack? really turning into jim jeffries mark two; always refuses to give us any credit after pumping them yet will lick the huns * after being shafted by them (such as last season when they had 3 men and 3 penalties againt them )

Hooper's injury takes the shine off the win, much like Izzy's injury did last week. :54: Hearing it's not as bad as first feared, which is excellent news.

Onto the game and how good a start to the season has Anthony Stokes made? He's in brilliant form right now, his all round game is terrific. Brown, Ledley & Ki were impressive today also & i'm glad the latter two got on the scoresheet aswell. Mulgrew continues to look solid at the back. Zaluska was much better 2nd half, with a shakey defence... No wonder Lenny was going mental on the touchline..

5-1 doesn't really tell the whole story, it does flatter us a tiny bit... Dundee Utd created a few good chances and played some nice stuff at times. Johnny Russell is a great wee player... However, some of the challenges that we going in were shocking... :38:

Overall, very very pleased with the result today. Bring on Thursday night. :shamrock:

yeah but the challenges going in prior to izzy gettin hurt were * awful it was only a matter of time before someone was injured im suggesting that had something been done about them that the player might not have slid in so recklessly causing izzy to land the way he did and the same "kick the * out of them i wont book you attitude" today again

An excellent performance from Celtic today overall. 5 goals and unlucky we didn't get 1 or 2 more. Stokes all round play was excellent. We were seeing some signs of his partnership with Hooper begining to come together again with some nice link up play betrween the 2 of them. So lets hope Hooper's injury is not serious. Ki and Ledley were excellent in central midfield. They ran the show there. Brown and Commons both retained the ball well and had good games. Mulgrew had a good game which was important to see as well. Wilson looked good. But I must say I was concerned with our back line at times today dealing with crosses. Zaluaska showed us what we get with him is an excellent shot stopper but very poor on crosses. He is a solid keeper but he still doesn't convince me that he can become Boruc's replacement and our regular number 1. Plus right now if Zaluska gets hurt then Cervi is in goal and that is flat out scary.

I also have to say my utter contempt for Peter Houston was confirmed today as he clearly sent his players out to kick out at Brown in partcular but Celtic players in general all day. Craig Tompson should be ashamed of himself. He basically gave Dundee United free reign to kick Celtic players all day. Scott Roberston was a stone wall red card in the second half when he pulled back a counter attack. Dixon not getting a yellow for his late tackle on Hooper. Never mind the numerous kicks at Brown which went on all day.

Mate the game wasn't in the bag at 3-1 when he came on, was still pretty nervy! Maloney set up the 4th, had a hand in the 5th and was unlucky not to score himself after a brilliant run!

Was a really good game the day, Dundee Utd played well and Johnny Russell was excellent, id consider bidding £1million for him as back-up to Stokes and Hooper as hes also an alternative too being good in the air compared to they two, far better player than Goodwillie!

That lad Russell looks a good player. Thought 5-1 flattered us a bit today. Looked good going forward but thought the defence went into meltdown for a spell start of second half. Not convinced big Dan does his job. Defence was getting pulled about, he should be keeping it tighter.

I don't think 5-1 flattered us at all today!
We made the chances we took five.....we defended and kept a few Dundee United efforts out and only let in one!
As far as i'm concerned...if we let in four goals every game and score five we will win the league....give the Bhoys some slack,as the season develops we will get stronger and guys like big Dan will prove their worth.

    Keep the faith :shamrock:

I always have the faith Joe. I was happy today, to win any game 5-1 who wouldn't. I was worried how our defence went to sea a bit second half tho. Bit of panic set in when it shouldn't have. Didn't think there was four goals between the teams today, thats why I said it flattered us a bit. I've seen games like that when we didn't take our chances and it cost us. * me I'm very pessimistic. Big Dan does worry me tho, hey joe keep the faith:50:
