You may have wiped it from your mind but something quite similar happened a few years back :50:

As have/do we. We have been massively outspending SPL clubs for decades.

As a neutral, I just have to say that today was absolutely * incredible. Undoubtedly the best final day of any season in sporting history, coupled with us lifting the SPL trophy for the first time in four years.

You want to talk about drama right up until the final whistle? It doesn't get any more dramatic than winning the title with about 20 seconds or something left to play of the campaign.

I'm never a City supporter in a million years, but even I smiled when Aguero nicked it at the end. The real fans, those who have had to endure 44 years of misery, ever since their last title win, deserve today. Congratulations to them all.

I know it's been said already, but sometimes you just have to put all personal feelings about English football and the amount of overspending that goes on down there aside, and realize what you're witnessing. We won't see a final day like that again for a long time, if ever. Just remarkable.

Fergie's going to need to be shrewd in the transfer market to topple City...can't afford to go out and splash 30m like he's done in recent times on the likes of Rio, Rooney and Berbatov.

Kompany signed for 6 million. What a bargain, in retrospect.

Breathtaking finish mate. Man United's game finished 19 seconds or something like that before City's and United thought they had won it, as City were drawing 2-2 and United had won against Sunderland...

And then news of City's third goal filtered through. Unbelievable doesn't do it justice :56:

The majority of their fans probably are "Real fans". People seem to forget they used to sell out Maine Road during the dark days.

It's natural that fans come out in higher numbers during the glory days. Our attendances were much higher when Larsson and co wore the Hoops.

They will have their fair share of gloryhunters, but what successful team doesn't?

We are even terrible for it. I personally only have one mate who proper supports Celtic. The rest get the top and that's about it.

Joey Barton's list of tweets today:

"Can do nothing but apologise to the players and the fans. Still don't think its a sending off. Tried to take 1 of their players with me."

"Still not my proudest moment but who gives a f*ck, we are safe..........and that is all that matters."

"The head was never gone at any stage, once I'd been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take 1 of theirs with me..."

    "Never worked but * loves a trier. #reallynotbother #wearesafe"

    "Well done to Man City..."

"To all those nuggets who've been tweeting about relegation all season.......u were wrong. #chinup"

    "
To those same nuggets, the ones that constantly wrote us of all season. See u in the Premiership next season... #comeonur'sss"

He doesn't think it was a red and tried to take one of their players with him. What an absolute fud

You could almost argue it's worst if what he's saying is true and it wasn't red mist. Intentionally trying to take a players out after getting sent off is disgraceful.
