True...Scottish rioters would be the easiest to catch. They'd all be having a sit in at the offie minging drunk by the time the coppers showed up :icon_mrgreen:

Tom Devine was talking on Radio Scotland earlier about the very subject of why it hasn`t happened in Scotland. Made some interesting points.

West Midlands police have been worried that there might be a race riot between asian and black groups following the murder of the 3 guys protecting their street.

I'm hoping it is all over now.

If you would have placed odds of a riot braking out in Scotland, all of england would have bet everything they owned that it would...How ironic. Most people have condemed the rioting and would go out to prevent it spreading north.Who has the bad rep again?

I see The Independent has sacked one of their journalists for encouraging the riots, an interview they gave with the Huffington Post has now also been removed.

Pompous fool trying to encourage people to riot.

Why do you think Glasweigans wouldn't riot? Because a junkie gave his seat to a wee granny? We are under the same government and have MORE poverty than these areas in London. You have to ask yourself, Why hasn't a riot happened here?

When things like this happens in Eastern Europe every western politician says that government should fall. Where are the citizens who ask for democratic change now... Two faced western countries...

Britain helps "movement" like this one in other countries, calling them "manifestation of the democratic will of the people" and calls on authorities to "refrain from repression".

I didnt say that I gave it as an example! Perhaps because Scottish people have always had * all we are used to it! We might have rich areas, but not many. Its not like Easterhouse is parked right next to Kensington is it.

Why do you think a riot hasn't happened here? Y

This is a bunch of people looting and taking things that they want. At the best it was a protest against the police force. Things may have been aggrievated by the political climate, but recent events are not a protest to oust the government. There is not one common voice, this is not syria.

Scottish society and Glaswegians in general, from the police officers to the old woman on the street are made of sterner stuff.

We as a people would not be as stand-offish as those in London and elsewhere in England, fact.

Was watching Sky News and found out the rioters that have been charged for rioting and looting have been given given the heavy sentence of ''time served''!! Two days in the * cells!

You left wing liberals really have * up this country. I knew they wouldn't be punished.

But let's take the policeman into the courts and lock them away for a few years eh? There the problem!
