As a 24th generation immigrant myself with a reasonable command of the language, i have to say you are flogging a dead horse.I know what the phrase means, but whatever number you attach to "immigrant", it is only the 1st generation that are truly immigrants.Anything after that is not an immigrant in the strictest sense of the word. They are children of immigrants.....or 2nd generation immigrants......but as i said before........if i had meant that, i would have said that....but i didnt.

PS...just noticed your new post, and as i am sure you are bored with this also, i will give you the last word and not respond to our petty disagreement again as we are boring everyone, so feel free to have a last word............................................................................................................................................................................................................................(you *)

Absolutely, but a young girl getting batonned by police will start a riot a lot more quickly than if it was a young lad...

Regarding the immigrants thing. The question was put to 'MGM' by 'The Hand'.

"Would you agree with them on the deportation of immigrant rioters? Or wouldn't you go that far?"

He is entitled to answer the question. It was not him bringing immigration into the discussion. Nor has he blamed any of this on immigrants.

Just because you agree that troublemaking immigrants should be deported does not mean you are a BNP supporting *.

LOL - this is kickin aff as regular as the riots now! :56:

Just to clarify, the original question was put to Holy Pope (not MGM) because he'd supplied a link to a BNP leaflet, and it said some things that echoed his own comments. I don't think either HP or MGM are closet Nick Griffins - I was just interested to know the extent to which folk might go along with what they were saying about the riots. They're clearly trying to use the situation to gain members, I'm wondering how much traction it might have.

Aw yeah I certainly wasn't accusing you of any wrong doing.

Regarding the BNP, I think the last few days have been the greatest days of their lives. 24 hour footage of buildings burning and black kids smashing and looting things will have plenty of people looking at the BNP for answers. Especially when you take into account that MPs in mainstream parties are too scared to have any sort of discussion on race and race issues for fear of being labelled a racist. It plays into Griffin's hands.

I've already seen on Facebook, people coming out with some pretty racist crap.

Well if that's true we've nothing to worry about. Cos if they can't gain a toehold in the middle of national riots then they're getting nowhere.

But like Matt says, there's a whole lot of racist comments flying about online - a number on here in fact, which I found pretty disappointing. The whole response to it has depressed me - particularly from the media, who haven't really tried to explain how it started or who is doing it.

For instance, most of the rioters in Enfield where the Sony factory got done over were white - but that fact is not being widely reported, leaving the way clear for Griffin & his pals to portray it as Black Riots.

Speaking of immigrants (real immigrants, not minority citizens), I thought this interesting article contained a relevant tidbit.

OK you can not just say first generation immigrants! What about a teenager who came here when he was a child? He has been here most of his life? He is still first generation, but would find his home country completely alien??

If anyone involved in the rioting is here illegally, or on a temporary visa, then yes they should be deported. If they have indefinite leave to remain in the UK, regardless of what generation of immigrant they are, then * no they should not be deported!

Such comments will only further antagonise an already volatile situation. The more focus that is given to any race issue will result in the riots taking a different and far more sinister slant.

I actually thought that was a given and people in general knew that. It's well known that there is a culture among many immigrants to start their own businesses and culturally they've kept the workforce "in-house" for two main reasons. The first being it lowers overheads and increases profits and the second, it's easier to trust a family member than "an outsider".

I feel real admiration for those in the communities affected who stood together and would not allow those thugs to destroy what they'd worked for. They deserve more credit than they are getting, but they're switched on enough to know that they were not going to get enough help by the Police to protect their businesses and homes and certainly no help from government, if * forbid they did lose their homes and businesses.

Edit: I should add I'm not trying to be selective in mentioning immigrants and I don't advocate expulsion of immigrants. I do however advocate extremely harsh sentences for those found guilty of looting, rioting and criminal damage.

That's basically what it boils down to, those that are rioting don't want to work, they just want everything given to them, if it's not given they take it.

They are quick enough to bring out water cannon and rubber bullets in Ireland. just shows the double standards again.

I dispise the people doing this as innocents are having everything took away from them, no matter what creed race or religion.

I also have built up a massive hatred for cameron and tea biy clegg. once agin it shows the inability to govern our society.

am just glad i live in Newcastle and we actually have some sort of sense up here.

Aye they were talking about shutting down Blackberry Messenger but were probably too afraid of being sued at denying some toerag's human right to organise a riot

There's a process involved with doing that but RIM has already stated that they will hand over information linked with timing of activity for all their customers, and the people who appear to have been using it to coordinate looting based on this evidence will have the content of their messages given to the police. I'm not sure a shutdown is as easy as just blacking out a certain market.
