I don't know the best answer but if the police start "blasting them
all to *" then innocent people will be killed, by the people who
are supposed to protect them.

There are people being paid huge amounts of money to make
the best decisions on how to stop these riots,& they are failing.

The guy had a gun and according to most sources he was refusing to drop it. If anyone refuses to drop a gun they will be shot in most countries in the world. Why should we be any different? They are a danger to the public end of story.

As far as I am aware, the gun was found in the car, after the guy had been shot, and was apparently wrapped in a sock.
