    Cant believe no one has mentioned Willo Flood.....................Na George Best. There is no denying George is Irish. Yeah he was from loyalist east belfast but didnt support Rangers and was a proud irishman. I seen him say it in an old interview on sky.

    No way. He isnt fit to lace George Best's boots. Best was in the top 5 players ever. Keane wouldnt be in the top 50

    Bestie also always argued in favour of an all-Ireland team. He was out of Belfast before the troubles so he never really experienced the full on conflict there.

    I love Roy Keane to bits he was a great player but i voted NO.
    Although he was voted No1 ROI player of all time according to this link-

    In the various polls i checked of the top 100 footballers of all time,George Best made the top 10 on most occasions among guys like Pele,Maradona and Cruyff....he was the highest ranking Irish player in all the polls i checked which makes him No1 Irish player of all time in my book.

    Fair enough, he wasn't a Hun, but where did he say he'd play for us given the opportunity? I've got his book and never read him say that. He only mentions us winning the European cup before United, one of our opponents and how he'd have loved Jock Stein to replace Busby.
