I believe Derek Riordan has now staked his claim to be the
partner striker alongside Big Jan in the team now.:50:

I would play him in the Milan Game now...:56::56::56:

    Why move him up front?

He's starting to produce the goods because he's getting a run in the team in his best position. Coming in from the left is how he got his goals at Hibs.

    fair enough GD,

TBH Id say hes better than we have to partner JVOH

but is he a better left mid than Mcgeady?

It depends what you want from your left mid. Riordan will always score more goals than McGeady. But he won't get the crosses in like Aiden. You have to say on form there is only one choice at the moment.

Riordan is in form and scoring, so he must be a first pick at the moment.

I think he played well but he has to keep these performances steady. If he shows a little more strength why not put him in against Milan

Depends on formation and who is available. His best position is left of a front three but we dont play that. Pity as it would really suit our group of players but it has its weaknesses and WGS known that. He is not a conventional striker in a 4-4-2 (not a back to goal player at all). I would probably keep him where he is but, given the lack of a stand-out fit partner for JVOH, I would seriously consider moving him up front with a licence to drift and put McGeady wide left, simply to get our best players on the park. Basically play him where JJ played (and underwhelmed again) today. One things for sure, Deeks is looking the part. Never thought he could be contention for the CL starting 11 but its looking that way now.

Riordan has performed every time he's had a chance, so why shouldn't he deserve a start.

He has massive talent but he sometimes hes all tricks and no end product. He needs to realise there isnt going to be a guy in a cage fighting lions with a chair coming on straight after the game. :56: Until he develops that then its Deeks for me. What a goals per game ratio Deeks has in the 1st team. :50:

By the way, I am allowed to be smug now :84: as I have sold Deeks for months to the degree that I was accused of being him. I always knew he would never shine in the reserves cause he has far to good a football brain and was thinking a minute ahead of his reserve team mates. Here is a predication: WGS will move to a 4-3-3 for the SPL run in as an experiment, unless we are still in the CL.

And here's another prediction from Stonewall :shamrock:

WGS will sell McGeady for £10 Million in the summer,
and finance the purchase of Tymoschuk and McCarthy, and still leave us with money in the bank.:50:

    You read it here first..:84:

Sorry Keltoi, but I smell pish. You are in fact Kenny Misser as you have been defending him all season.

Many others including myself have been banging the drum for Riordan to get a chance in the team.
