Why do you think no matter what the squad is we always have 1 scapegoat in thier. Its like we always have to have one. I E it was Caldwell now its Sammy and Loovens. They are * imo but they get too much blame.

I see where you are coming from but imo sammy lost us the league last season so he deserves alot of blame. Big heid wisny so bad but Loovens is utter pish and should be no where near a celtic jersey :38:

Of players that still play for us: Samaras, Loovens, Murphy, Brown and Ki at times.

It doesn't matter who is playing for us, fans will always have a scapegoat. Even Barca fans have a scapegoat.

Certain players can be frustrating to watch, as a result they come in for criticism.

He never cost us the league the defeat at inverness caused that but less talk about that the better. Guess is just player who prone to mistakes or being inconstant or in general is just crap then people vent their anger out at them, always wondered why Caldwell got it though imo he was good for us.

Caldwell did have a good spell for us but towards the end he became a liability with a penchant for scoring own goals, if his talent was as big as his mouth he would've been world class.

The thing is, the 3 players that were named in the OP all bring it upon themselves. Heid used to have brain explosions that would cost goals in big games, Loovens can do the same, whereas Sammy just is one of the most frustrating players that has ever worn the Hoops. He can be completely unplayable, but on the flipside 7 goals in an entire season speaks for itself.

    Sammy is one

It's unfair on scapegoats to call Naylor a scapegoat. The term implies some bit of innocence.

I would agree that Brown to an extent can be considered a scapegoat, as he has often devided opinion. TBF, since Lennon has shifted him to the right he has played alot better and there have been far fewer comments questioning his value to the side since then.

But yes, certainly when played central there have often been times when he has been, and the support has been justified in this regard. That's not to say he didn't put in effort, just that all his efforts were being not being focused in the right areas.

The reason they are scapegoats is because they bring it upon themselves in Loovens' case it's because he's just pish. Samaras is because we know what he can do, but he does it in 4 games a season, maximum eg last season Ibrox 2nd Jan, Motherwell last home games last season, ICT hat-trick, Parkhead 3-0 game vs Rangers.

Why not every week? It's so frustrating! He should be sold because 7 goals for a Celtic striker is a joke, Commons had half a season less than Samaras and scored double what he did.

Samaras didn't cost us the League any more than Majstorovic. At least Samaras won us a game against Rangers. Big Dan sold the jersey's against them in the first game and then at ICT.

think back to when sammy had his best season for us ,was it not that he fitted better into that system ,early ball over the top, more space for him to run into and not getting bogged down by a passing game ,he played well with jvoh in the team where he would run onto knock downs .
this is why he is more suited to a counter attacking team , unfortunately not many attack us in the spl .

if were going to talk about loosing the league I think we dont have to look at the inverness game or samaras penalty as the only stand outs, what about the draws we had at celtic park one after another, that is 4 points lost that really shouldnt have happened

We badly missed Brown and Kayal in these games. Terrible defending also cost us these points.
