Lewis Toshney

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by T.Rogne25, Jul 18, 2011.

  1. Apparently Toshney was outstanding on Saturday and everytime I have seen him he has been one of the standouts, anyone who has seen him, what do you think the chances are of this Bhoy breaking through.

Lenny seems to rate him and he is a Celtic fan which helps, maybe if we offload a few Centre-Halfs he will be able to progress, he seems to be over his injuries and is a really, really talented player I think.

    Thoughts?:shamrock:

  2. if hes good enough get him in the team we need to start giving the young lads a chance

  3. he is good always a standout for me aswell would rather him than loovens

  4. I'd definitely have him over Loovens.

  5. Thats Lennon for you's! he always gives the young boys a chance. Toshney made his debut against Aberdeen last season. Is he a right back or a centre back?

  6. was superb on Saturday, looked 100x the player Thompson is. He'll get his chance when he's ready.

  7. he started on saturday at RB then moved to CB when Hooiveld went off and looked very comfortable so i'm unsure

he was one of few who played well on saturday

  8. him and number 16 who came on played well cant believe how bad josh thompson didnt think he could have gotten any worse

  9. He played CB with the under 19's think its probably his preferred position

  10. He was absolutely awful, running about like a headless chicken. I thought he would have improved by going out on loan but it doesn't look like it. It was only the first game of pre-season but I will be amazed if he gets a game this season

  11. it was embarrasing to watch wonder how he felt i know its the first game of pre season but me and you could play better than he did

    He's a centre-back guys.

  12. Yeah he is, but on saturday he started as a RB before being moved to CB. He also made his debut vs Aberdeen at RB so i think he is probably comfortable at both. Looked good on saturday, i think he has the potential to make the first team in the next year or 2, depending on how Rogne and Wanyama turn out for us i think.

  13. Haven't seen him play but if he does break through it'll be in a trickle to begin with unless he manages to put in some really impressive performances.

  14. im sure i heard one of the commentators at the aberdeen game say that he started out as a really promising prospect at right back for our youth teams but then got hurt and missed an entire year and grew quite a bit so when he came back we converted him to centerback

  15. It's difficult for the young guys to break into the first team but i'd much rather see them getting a chance over some of the so called established players.

  16. Hope he makes it. We need as many young Bhoys in the time as possible. :celt_2:

  17. Well he has to be if he professional footballer as Loovens is the worst in the world on a bad day and on a good day he is just the worst in a celtic strip. Dam I hate to be negitive but he * me off so much :31: thank you for letting me get that out :icon_mrgreen:

  18. Toshney was good on Saturday, only youth player that i thought looked good enough to get anywhere near the 1st team any time soon, hopefully he keeps it up.

  19. Think we've got to step it up with these guys & punt the deadwood.

Look how well Wilson did at Rangers & earned a move to Liverpool for example.

We should have a 1st team Squad of around 25 players & bring these guys through every chance we get, even for the last 15 minutes in a 3-0 lead for example.

In event of injuries & suspensions they should be put into the team.
