    JAMES McFADDEN is back on the Old Firm's radar after contract talks with Birmingham City collapsed.

    Birmingham held a two-year option on his deal and new boss Chris Hughton wanted him to stay.
    But the deal was on reduced wages and the 28-year-old rejected the new terms.
    Now Tartan Army hero Faddy can walk away from St Andrew's for NOTHING. That's sure to interest Celtic boss Neil Lennon, who has Faddy on a list of signing targets.
    Rangers will also take notice after missing out on Craig Conway and Tomer Hemed.
    Lifelong Hoops fan Faddy had always distanced himself from a move to Glasgow.
    But he told friends recently that he would NOT rule out a summer switch to Parkhead.

    if he rejected those wages well we dont want him for the kind of wags he will demand but surely the huns will be able to pay it with shooters warchest :rolleyes:

    Id take him, is probably better than Commons and would be a hunskelper.

    He'll never go to the huns, dont know why it even mentions them.

    Why not theyre similar players. McFadden would score 15-20 a season in Scotland.

    Commons scored what, 14? In half a season. Also McFadden has never been very prolific in his scoring tallies. Just the odd wonder goal.

    Would've taken him back in the day straight from Motherwell, but I don't really see what he can add to our squad now. Especially considering that he'd be on a * good wage.

    McFadden scores his so called wonder goals maybe twice a season, including Scotland games. Commons scores those sort of goals on a regular basis. McFadden as cover for Commons would be cool with me as long as he takes a huge pay cut.

    When he was a teenager at Motherwell he scored 32 goals in 70 games. I think he would find it * easy up here again.

    They have similar ratios.

    McFadden club and Internationally scores on average every 4.3 games, Commons scores every 4 games. McFadden also played half of his career games in the Premiership though compared to Commons who only ever played in League 1 or the Championship.

    McFadden 345 career games 79 goals
    Commons 332 career games 83 goals

    Not much in it.

    Fair enough but I would say that has been with Commons getting steadily better until this point, with McFadden declining. As you said he scored a * load of those goals with Motherwell.

    I really don't think we need him at all. Wouldn't be an improvement for the wage he would be on.
