Oh definitely have empathy for the families that have had to raise children with disorders, one in particular was my extended family so I know what it is like. It is a constant struggle and the people who do it are to be commended.

However as somebody mentioned above, this Frankie Boyle joke has got people to look at the issue of discrimination against disabled children/people more than hundreds of campaigns has.

    Is that a bad thing?

If thats how you feel you maybe want to take a look at the Random Image Thread on this site and be totally offended at the amount of sons/ daughters/ fathers and mothers who are posted on there in the name of a bit of fun.

That comment is a standard issue from the Daily Mail handwringing self righteous bridgade.

If it was my son, I wouldnt be whoring myself up and down the country for every tv station, magazine and newspaper willing to pay a dollar for a peek. I would be protecting him at home and give him a safe and happy environment to make the best of his life.

Sorry if its a bit harsh sounding.

In a sense I would say it was a negative thing mate as well as being positive.

I think that the whole hullabaloo about it being 'Jordan's disabled son' being the topic, and the issues that this is raising, is demeaning of the hard work that charity groups and the anti-discrimination campaigners have been doing over the years kind of.

Having worked with young people with sensory impairments, i understand the hardship and agony that people with disabilities can go through. I can also see that they are just people like you and I who have a disability -rather being a person who is disabled.

i personally laughed at the joke more because it was aimed at her. The constant pursuit of fame that she craves has put this kid in the spotlight....she is to blame in that sense.

In a nutshell. If this had been any other child no one would have laughed and the joke would never have been made.

So Frankie was digging at her. Thats why its funny. She sets herself up to be ridiculed. There is an argument that he took it too far by using her son to get at her, but again, she uses her children and every facet of her life to get attention.

It's the world we live in mate, there will always be more attention shoved upon scandals and c-list celebrities than the people who are out there actually trying to do good in the world.

    Indeed it is mate.

Take the rags for example. One the front page will be (example) "Tory MP caught with pants down!", or "Cheryl Cole sacked from US job!"....thenon page 13 "Tsunami kills 62,000 people in Japan!"

The world of Celebrity and society's perverse * for voyeurism has taken over our morale sense of what is imporant in this world:38:

I think pandre (Peter Andre) is a * class act alot of respect for him he just gets on with it and doesnt use his kids for publicity while taking care of harvey as well. He goes mental when he sees his kids dressed up in make up and wearing earings

This may be a little controversial for some people to take but disabled people have a sense of humour as well, and will happily have a joke at their own expense. And I know as I work with them every day in my job.

We have to watch that we dont preclude them from ALL aspects of society, even the more unseemly ones in an attempt to be totally PC.

In an ideal world a comedian such as Boyle could take the * out of an able bodied person at a gig and do the same to a disabled person and we would all be able to take it what it is. A joke where we are all laughing at ourselves.

Think that's something we can all agree on, the perspective of the world has went apeshit. Not sure if it's always been like that or it's me that's growing up and realising it.

I dont remember that, did you call me a name???

Theres no right or wrong in these threads, just people giving their opinions. Some we will agree with, some we wont. There are a lot of people in here who offer a good debate on a wide range of topics. I have changed my mind on quite a few things after some posts.

This one is a very emotional one though and it would be quite easy for someone to get upset or take things the wrong way. I hope that I wouldnt offend someone intentionally.

Frankie Boyle has shown that words can be very powerful if nothing else.

    Water off a ducks back.

If I publically courted publicity and brought my son, disabled or otherwise, into the public domain I would not have the audacity to try and spark a witch hunt because a comedian made a throwaway joke of the ilk he has a million times about a million other people.

She is playing the sympathy card and it doesn't work, she is a fame hungry talentless tart.

Fair play to her for playing the system and becoming a rich women for it right enough but the same system has allowed her son to be a target, she should be ashamed of herself.

I don't know if this is the right thing to say but I remember when she was pregnant with harvey she would be falling out of nightclubs.* knows what she was drinking or taking and i also remember she went to the room of gareth what's his name, the singer with the stutter.I've often wondered if her lifestyle at the time was the reason harvey is the way he is.Jordan is without doubt one of the most selfish people I've ever seen on tv.her treatment of people is the reason she will end up with know one.

Never watched the programme, on the basis that I cannot stand her. Maybe if she wasn`t so fake and attention seeking; she may have had more sympathy from the general population.

The joke was deviant and I like many others laughed at it, therefore I cannot crticise it.

The issue that should be highlighted is disability in general, now she seems to have plenty of money which should make her situation with her son easier( in terms of assistance or help). What about the many others in the country who are not fortunate enough to be financially safe and afford assistance. Those that struggle to cope with having to work a full day then come home to care for their disabled child or *.

Maybe she should use her attained wealth and her opportunity to highlight the issue with such programmes; rather than what I assume to be looking for sympathy or "poor me syndrome".

    Well said mate.

The fact that slightly annoyed me, and cemented my thought that she was in this for herself was the fact that, throughout the program, she continually said that she didn't give a * what Boyle said about her, and that it was about Harvey.

At the end of the program, credits came up saying that 'Katie AND Harvey have still to recieve an apology..........."

She has a team of full-time Nannies - what would she know about caring for her son? She is the joke.

She will never get an apology from Frankie Boyle. Never.
