Celtic on the brink of sealing a deal for Africa pair

Celtic are chasing a double African signing hit – and could pull it off within a matter of days.
Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has already agreed to join the Hoops, and his Belgian club, Germinal Beerschot, are just waiting for the £900,000 deal to be signed off.
The 20-year-old could be joined at Parkhead by Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona, who is preparing to come to Glasgow for transfer talks.
The 21-year-old looked to be heading to Germany, but claims to have received a more serious offer from Celtic.
However, while this in the initial stages, the deal to bring aboard Wanyama is much further down the line.
Work permits for both players would be an issue. And, despite having been resident in Belgium since 2008, Wanyama does not have Belgian citizenship and still holds a Kenyan passport.
The press officer at Beerschot, Danny Geerts, confirmed they are just waiting for the paperwork being completed on the move.
He said: “It is not yet quite a done deal. We are just waiting for the signatures on the contracts. I think it is down to red tape.
“We are also quite busy here, and are bringing in a few players ourselves, including a striker from Israel.
“So, while Victor’s transfer is a priority, it is not the only one for us. Victor and the rest of the squad are just back from a team-building camp, and he has a few days off now before he is due to report back for training on Monday.”
By then Wanyama might be heading to Glasgow to complete his transfer, or even Down Under to meet up with his new team-mates.
Musona also hopes he is on a flight to Glasgow soon to begin the next chapter in a career which has already made him a national hero.
As the league’s top scorer, he has quickly become a star with Kaizer Chiefs, and caught the attention of several clubs outwith Africa, including Hoffenheim.
The Bundesliga side invited him to Germany on trial, and he was in the process of obtaining a visa to make the trip.
But Musona is now more interested in coming to Scotland after contact was made by Celtic.
The striker – known as the Smiling Assassin – is certainly not short of options as news of his prowess in front of goal has spread.
But, even though he is still young and developing, he has made it clear that he does not want to move to a club where he would not get regular games.
Musona has already rejected a lucrative move to Russia because he did not think it was right for him.
He previously said: “Time will tell when I leave Chiefs, but it has to be at just the right moment.
“I don’t want to go and sit on the bench somewhere, though, so I must prove myself in the SPL. I’m aiming to be the best here.
“I think I will do well in France, Spain and England some day. With my ability, I know I can make it in one of these leagues, but only when the time is right.”
Despite adding Musona to their shopping list, Celtic are also continuing to pursue Maccabi Petach Tikvah striker Omer Damari.
However, the asking price for the 22-year-old is around £3million, while Musona is thought to be available for around half that fee.

Same mate :50: Would be amazing.

I really really like this way Celtic is going. John Park seems to be plucking players from everywhere in the world. Its an ajax-esque approach to transfer/ players policy and i love it.

I havent seem Damari and Mosuna other than youtube video but id rather buy exciting youngster for little fee and very small wages than spending a rediculous amount of money on a old timer or over priced english/scottish players.

As daft as it sounds I don't think we'll have too much bother finding a buyer for Sammy, same with Ras. Think Murphy will be our biggest problem, honestly can't see anyone outside the championship even considering him and even then I doubt anyone would take him.

At least 2 Strikers need to leave to get Damari and Musona surely.

We can't have Stokes, Hooper, Samaras, Murphy, Damari, Musona and Rasmussen.

I'd love Ras, Sammy and Murphy to leave from that bunch.
