Not exactly the best of sources but what I would say is as much as I want Izzy to stay here because he is sheer quality. I think if someone was to offer over £10mil then the Celtic Board will accept it without even blinking an eye.
Its way too much money to refuse for a player we managed to buy for 600k

    I don't think we'll sell for £10 million.

There is a 30% sell on clause in his contract which will go to Motagua so if we sell him for £10 mil we only get 7 mil, I don't think he's worth loosing for 7mil and I think Lennon and the board will think the same.

I'd only sell him for £12 mil which would mean we would recieve £8.4mil for him.

think if they bid £10m, the board will accept it and i can't question why. i'm unsure if they do have a 30% sell on clause as it was their chairman that said it and look what happened with the Damari deal.

if we sell for £10m, regardless of what the sell on clause percentage is, it'll go a long way for getting a replacement, a keeper and a striker.

I don't think we'll be selling Izzy unless its for a good bit more than 11 mil.If he has another good season under his belt he'll be worth a lot more than that,he'll be signing a new improved contract within the next few weeks.

Emilio seems to like it here & comes across as a Larsson "family man" type.

I'd love to see him stay for a few years & then move on like Henke, but £11m is a massive profit on £600k (if true)...so I couldn't really argue if we sold him.

i'd take 11 million plus get liverpool to throw in a player on loan, maybe a keeper. then i'd go out and buy Lee Wallace for 1.5million.

ideal scenario would be for izzy to perform in europe for us this season, in January we sign wallace on a bosman and next summer sell izzy for 15m.

There is absolutely zero chance that we would not sell for 11 million.

We kept McGeady for years when we could have cashed in earlier on the 10 mil,all im saying is that the board will be looking at the future, and Izzy will still be worth the same this time next year if not more,so why not get another year out of the player then cash in when he's on a longer contract and we could possibly get more?

am sure if a team had offered us 9.5m a few season before McGeady left we would have sold him

I'm pretty sure we were getting good offers for him for the 2 seasons before he was sold, could probably find some evidence of this somewhere.Lenny has all ready come out and said Izzy is not for sale.

We never received a bid close to 9.5 million before Spartak came in, and if we had, we would have sold him earlier than we did. To be perfectly honest, even if Izzy has another exceptional season next year, there's next to no chance we'll get an offer over 11 million.

we all know Strachan talked crap...he would give David Vine a run for his money, as to who talks the most bollocks.
best offer i think we had for McGeady was 6m, which to be honest was way too low, Strachan was probably trying to get the type of figure that he did eventually go for.

do we take the risk with Izzy, where he only has 1 fantastic season, and then has a few more disasters like ICT game, .....his value would half overnight. Plenty players have come here and played fantastic there 1st year and then got gradually worse.( Lee Naylor, Big Jan, Samaras).

    bite there hand off....11M.

In your honest opinion do you think Izzy will have a disastrous season next year if he stays?Unlikely.
He was one of our most capped player's up until the ICT game, cant blame the guy for having 1 off game at the end of the season.Did Jan,Naylor or Sammy win player of the year awards in their 1st season with us?

Strachan may have talked a lot of bollocks, but he talked our bollocks, and he knew how to bamboozle the media. I raise my hat to the man.

    :50:

Keep hold of Izzy and a real good season may make him want to stay for another after that. Then you never know. But if he doesn't, he has every right to pursue his own personal dream, and we have our right to make a good few quid from it, and I think everyone will get their fill.

If people are wanting to offer 11m for a first season, if he's has another like he did last year and a good run in europe then surly that fiqure will rise... I'd rather sell next year no matter what kind of moneys offerd.
