Stan Wants Back To Celtic !!

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by gunt, Jan 12, 2007.

  1. This is on cybertims:

'Stan Petrov has informed Aston Villa of his desire to move back to the
SPL champions. The only stumbling blocks would be a transfer fee, with Celtic not prepared to pay more than £3million for the player they sold only a few months ago for around £6.5million, and the ruling which prevents a player re-joining a club less than 12 months after he left. Villa are thought to want around £4million back of the money they paid Celtic for the Bulgarian'

No sources given but 3 or 4 million would be very good buisness and given that we got over 6 million that would be like getting a free quality player. One thing I would not do is offer to swap Maloney for Petrov before anyone suggests it (unless Maloney simply wont sign on).

  2. Why don't we offer Maloney in a swap deal?

  3. No way will WGS take that dud Petrov back, we are much better off without him, he couldn't score with a fistful of fivers in a whorehouse..

Alan Thompson is a legend, and there is no way anyone would call him a *....period.

  4. Maybe we should get Petrov back and get him to sit down with the reserve squad about the itchy feet syndrome that seems to delude some players to the EPL.

Players can make mistakes like anyone else, in fairness, Petrov did make sure we got the best price for him, even though he made * of the whole situation.

If he really wants to come back, i dont have a problem but we aint paying AV no more than £4M and he should be on reduced wages until he proves himself good

  5. The bottom line is we do not have a central midfield pairing that blend as well as Lenny and Petrov did last season. If he came back he would be in direct competition with Grav not Lenny. Next year when Lenny goes we will only have Sno as a sitter with no cover so we will have to do something about that too.

  6. Good idea-maybe paint the tunnel with a hall of failure mural covered with faces of Liam Miller, Viduka etc.

  7. This is 100% rumour ... and also 100% nonsense ! :38:

  8. I would be absolutley gobsmacked if this happened......... for starters both Stan & MON would look like right numtys..........

    time will tell

  11. Would you take him back Jhimbhoab?

  12. i have already posted on this thread and made my view clear. he disrespected the fans and the club... i wouldnt take him back

  13. load of bollox imo:38: ..jasus for the last time stan gave 100% in the hoops and made us 7million into the bargain ffs let it rest and back him in his new career:50: i didnt like his attitude at the trophy ceremony but his head waz somewhere else then...time 2 move on bhoys

i bet stan will be watching milan game shouting for us:50:

  14. What happened to forgiveness ? I am not convinced by Gravesen. But again it's his first season so I absolutely take your point about giving a player 2 seasons - although TG is a senior pro. I prefer Petrov to TG (so far) and we could get a great deal if it was to happen. Petrov * up big time but I could forgive him. It's absolutely your prerogative to not forgive him.

Overall the evidence suggests that it is not a good idea to go back anyway.

Onwards and upwards I suppose - and whatever happens I think we have to trust Strachan. He's doing alright so far.

  15. trust strachs..... great point. he's doing fine for us.

he's managing us quite clinically as i dont think he loved the club that much before he arrived so he has no baggage of being a so called badge kisser... just an efficient success.. and we r getting the benefit.

  16. good point mate:50:
no bias as far as hun this hun that crap! he thinks only of getting results on the field etc. and imo this will only help progress as a club in europe...he signs players on his view on talent alone and so it should be...NO BAGGAGE ATTACHED

  17. didnt like the way he worked it to leave but we got the best fron him and i would take him back second chance warranted for the efforts i rememberhim for this guy is a great player for celtic, go together like coffee and cream,
seriously , he would add to the squad, where we have been struggling of late
and we would know what we where getting , i mean if we can take elvi and make him captian , i dont see the problem some of us have got

I wouldn't pay for him but I'd trade him for Graveson or Balde or even better - Both of them :50: !

  18. balde and a fee! Welcome him home lads:50:
