Stan Wants Back To Celtic !!

It's no really a nice way to talk about anybody mate.

 

Petrov was never as good as people made out,It was the Thommo's, Lamberts,Lennons that really made our midfield what it was.

I think we have a really strong midfield,especially when we play 5.We dominated Man Ud for spells at old trafford with that and it was the reason we got back intot the game at Celtic park.Also Lennon works much better in a 5-man midfield as does Gravesen.If we only play the 4 It gives Lennon way too much to doespecially if it's McGeady and Riordan on the wings because they come second strikers.So then you end up having gravesen and lennon playing themselves against a 4 or 5 man midfield.We have been overrun many times - Rangers,Motherwell.When that begins to happen the 5 is the way to go.

All this p1sh about being unsettled.Everyonegets unsettled when they move from one city to a new city.It takes months to settle in,bet she is nipping his fvckin ear off.

I think if Petrov never came away with those comments about the money,motavation,commitment, people would feel sympathy for him i think and would not mind him coming back what do think

 

I do rate Petrov. I'm not saying he's world class or anything but for me he is a good European class player and I feel he did a good job for us especially after a difficult start in Glasgow. But I do feel he was disrespectful in the end. His greetin face at the celebrations were bang out of order and I think we all feel that even though he signed the contract to get us a better price he still should have handled it better. Our club has done a lot for him too although over the piece I might argue that he was underpaid for most of his time at Celtic.

I don't think that it is impossible that he could come back. If his missus has the sway we think she has the you never know. In a business sense we would hold all the aces in the deal between us and Petrov and us and Villa so if it happened it could be a very good deal for us. Where we would we play him though ?

Petrov did the business by signing the contract with Celtic to make it possible for us to get a good price when he could have gone 6 months later on a free transfer. What is his act of treachery leaving or the manner of his leaving ?

 

A good price...we ripped Aston Villa off...
Petrov left a bad taste in the mouth when he left, with all true Celtic fans..

 

I don't know if you're inferring that I'm not a true fan. If you are I'll no bother taking the bait.

One of the main reasons we got such a good price was that Petrov signed the new contract knowing he'd be leaving so that we would get money when we sold him - he did us a turn by doing that. You ignore that and years of good service a bit too quickly.

He gave more to the club than he took.

But I agree that he could have handled things a lot better.

 

ive only got one thing to say about the matter....
the grass can NEVER be greener than the green paradise of celtic park...and nobody leaving us appreciates this till they are gone..one of THE biggest clubs in the world and im sorry but will never understand anyone leaving 'paradise' unless to another one of europes biggest names (real,barca,milan,united)

stan gave nothing but 100% in the hoops..made us a tasty profit and comes accross like he has the heart of a lion...never bitched when fouled etc. like some european players..
he deserves our respect and i for one hope he plays a blinder in EPL in the next few years...always helps our pr in england when ex celts do well there..

Get real. You'll never understand anybody leaving unless to a handful of clubs? What, in any circumstances ? Well that's just not realistic. Players leave for a whole host of reasons - some of which may be justified.

Petrov gave seven years which is a lot in the modern game. I agree he made an * of it in the end but you can't let one thing be the only thing which forms your opinion - seven years is a long time. Are you saying that he had to stay at Celtic for his whole career in order to not be a *. What I'm saying is that you are not looking at the whole picture and also that I get the vibe that you will have a negative attitude to any player leaving Celtic no matter what (Henke obviously excluded).

Whether you like it or not he has got a new challenge. He's at a new club, in a new league and given their form it's going to be a challenge.

The problem many fans have with Petrov is not him leaving, but the circumstances around his departure and his behaviour towards the end of his time at CP.

I can understand any player wanting to leave the SPL to further their career, coz it is a * league in comparison to others around europe.

But the sight of his petted lip at the end of the season then his confession that he had lost interest left a bad taste in the mouth.

You mentioned Henke and his departure could not have been more different. He told everyone he intended to see out his contract then he was off, then proceeded to give everything for the cause in the last year and has had nothing but good things to say about Celtic ever since.

 

no...i didnt like the way he worked his ticket out the door,i didnt like watching him with a gub on whilst a title party was happening around him(he will now!) i didnt like how he and his * agent dealt with the whole situation full stop one minute he was happy to sign next minute he couldnt stand coming to his work or is your memory fading???...finally i didnt appreciate him advising maloney to also hook up with the same agent....
so yes i am entitled to my opinion and i do indeed think he is a *!


p.s. henke..at the peak of his game turned down man united to stay 1999(respect) and left to go to barcelona not aston * villa! so yer vibe was wrong!
