School hall built in Reamonn’s memory

REAMONN Gormley was described as an outstanding young man and commended for teaching English to disabled children at a school in Thailand during a gap year at Glasgow University.
A memorial for the slain teenager was built in the Thailand school in April where he taught English to children with Down’s Syndrome.
The 19-year-old sports science student spent the summer of 2010 working with the children in the Far East country through the Good Child Foundation.
Video footage of Reamonn in Thailand helping the children with their English by singing songs appeared on YouTube in his memory.

Teachers and pupils in Thailand were devastated by his death.
The Good Child Foundation are building another memorial in memory of Reamonn next March.
The Reamonn Gormley hall is under construction at the Thailand school.
About 50 children who Reamonn taught in Thailand are set to make a trip to Glasgow later this year and during their visit they are set to make a presentation to Celtic Football Club in Reamonn’s memory.
A video of the children singing Celtic fans’ chant of Depeche Mode’* ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ appeared on YouTube.
Towards the end of the song, the youngsters can be heard singing “Reamonn, Jimmy Johnstone and Tommy Burns will be smiling down from heaven on all of us.”
A charity CD released in May in memory of Reamonn Gormley rocketed to number two in the Scottish charts.
The song, a version of the 'Just Can’t Get Enough' anthem was recorded by the children of the Good Child Foundation in Thailand.
Paul Lennon, of Good Child Foundation, told the Advertiser: “I have no words that can convey our sense of loss.
“Reamonn lives on in the hearts of the children here.”
