Right .. so you've taken everything i've taken out of context, and put a big sarcastic twist on it, nice one :50:

    1. I didnt say Ki was worth "£10M". That was a figure you made up. All i said is i wouldnt sell him unless it was for McGeady money ( who wasnt even £10M btw ) .. the common thing there was silly money. Do you rate McGeady at £9M .. ? because i was sure alot of the support on here agreed he wasnt worth £9M, and were happy to take the money and run, and i doubt there would be a majority that would turn back and reject the offer. Furthermore, a player has 2 values. The value the selling club are willing to let them go for, and the value the buying team are prepared to pay. Ki was bought for around £2M, which i would say is a fair price, and thus far has justified how much we paid, giving his appearences. He hasnt set the heather alight as much as other players, but he's coming onto a game and settled in rather well.

    2. I said it was a silly comparison, it is, but what does it matter that one player is a world cup winner, and european championship winner? The comparison was purely the type of player they are. I admit, its a bit extreme, but it's a comparison none the less. No matter someone else's acheivements, as their fluid. Jesus, Edson Braafheid got a world cup medal, and look how great he was for us? Unless im mistaken, with that logic, we should have kept him and never made the move for izzy.
To throw the comparison in there of Samaras and Drogba is just stupid. We're talking about the midfield. Ki and Ledley are very similar players. Kayal and Juarez are similar players. Commons is the player Brown SHOULD be. Maybe a better comparison for you to ask would have been Larsson and Forune maybe? :50:

    3. What makes you think Ki, Kayal, Ledley, Commons, Stokes, and Hooper are my favorite players? Hooper, Stokes, and Commons is no doubt our strongest attack. Why people want rid of stokes so much i dont know. Ki - Kayal - Ledley .. on papar, is our strongest midfield. I doubt theres many people on here that would disagree. Obviously things dont work out alot of the time, but theoretically, that would be our best midfield, with izzy and wilson running up the flanks.. Also, how do YOU know that this isnt in lennons plans? why would you want to change a winning formation/team week in - week out? Different formations and players are going to be required for certain games.

    4. If Ki was to go for £5-£6M .. then i think it would be a good bit of buisness, but i ( along with alot more people on here ) see him in our future plans, so we would be letting go a potentially key(no pun intended) player in the next coming years/celtics future. How about we reverse your question a little bit and flip it on its head, shall we?
If we had to let Ki go for buttons( as celtic usually does ) .. and he was to go on and become part of a team that was successfull domestically, and in europe, would you feel he justified his price? Imagine he was then sold by that team for £20M! .. how guy wrenching would that be? And it would be because his team gave him the chance. Basically he hasnt had his chance compared to Brown, who since he has been bought, has been an automatic first pick, even if the team has been performing better, and i ( again, along with alot of support on here ) feel as if its simply to justify the price we paid for him.. which was ridiculous btw, and i feel the exact same is happening with David Goodwillie. Getting into a stupid bidding war and paying more than double the players value simply so "they" dont get him ...

I know this is all hypothetically speaking, and its likely that Liverpool arent even interested, but i just didnt appreciate the way in which you twisted my post with sarcastic response's :bbpd:

A man who played 34 games a season is a squad player? i dont think so. Its clear u dnt fancy Ki but i dont see how you can just classify him as a squad player. I know what your argument is and that is ledley and kayal are starters. And then you will ask me will you drop brown for Ki? No i wont because he is our captain and is a rm not a cm,dm or am. Ki is a player who can provide what ledley and kayal cant and that is calmness on the ball, the ability to put a kill pass in and an excellent long range shooting. And you are trying to tell us he wont be missed? Ki is the exactly the sort of player we need for those away legs in europe and in the old firm games where we need composure and a decent midfielder with a rocket of shot on him.

Wood take silly money coz this lad has talent and is only 21 so will only get better.
It's good to know a lot of clubs are looking T our players, shows we are getting a good squad that's noticeable.
Doubt Celtic wold knock back £5million+ though. Tidy profit since we paid £2 million

Ki is itching to have a breakout season imo, this season was good, but i think if he is given the chances next season, we could see a marked improvement

[BI apologise for any sarcasm, intended or otherwise, but as you said, its unlikely to happen. And, as I have said before, I didnt rate Ki earlier in the season , but he did well when he came back into the side at the end. So if he stays fine, if not, then as long as we get a decent fee I would be happy with it.And thats what this post is about really. Not the merits of how good he is , how bad he is, how he compares to others.[/B]

You've argued with me, and answered it in the same breath. He has played 36 games since he came here. In 18mths. I dont believe that Ki offers more than Kayal or Ledley do. Keep hearing that he plays killer passes, but I can honestly think of any that he has played since he came here. His passing is no better than Kayal or Ledleys. Excellent long range shooting is another one, how many goals has he scored from distance? Not as many as is made out to be.

Again, there is the argument that we need him for Europe, when we havent even been good enough to win the SPL yet.

The post is about whether a possible transfer to Liverpool. Bottom line is if we get a decent fee, he wont be missed and the money can be used elsewhere.

CELTIC'S Ki Sung-Yeung has been targeted by Liverpool after Roar missed signing him.

Despite the transfer speculation emanating from England that links Ki to The Reds, the Korea Republic international - who has been capped 38 times and played 34 matches for Celtic last season - expects to line up in Australia.

Ki, 22, regarded as the finest talent to emerge from Korea, said Roar had offered him a chance to train with the first team in 2005 before he returned to Korea to sign a contract with FC Seoul in 2007.

Ki was 16 when ex-Roar boss Miron Bleiberg first gazed upon the playmaker before the inaugural A-League season kicked off.

"I trained with Roar several times," Ki said. "But I'm not sure if they wanted me to sign for them. It was a good experience for me."
Now Ki is on Liverpool's wishlist in a deal that is set to evolve after The Reds' push for Blackpool's Scottish international Charlie Adam appears to have been put on the backburner.

Ki said he was due to arrive in Australia on July 5, convinced the nation had been a great choice to kickstart his early career.

After Ki was summoned to attend John Paul College in Brisbane for four years from 2001 to learn English and play football, he was spotted as a super talent before returning to Korea.

"It's very interesting that we're going to Australia for pre-season; I know the country really well," Ki said from Korea.

"I played with a lot of school teams. I have a lot of memories."

Ki scored the first goal in Celtic's 3-0 Scottish Cup final victory over Motherwell in May and is an important figure in Bhoys boss Neil Lennon's plans for next season.

With Celtic locked into next season's Europa League, Ki said that he was prepared to meet the greater demands of playing on the continent before thinking about another club move.

"I just want to concentrate on next season," he said.

"Maybe later if I have a chance I hope to try (another club).

"Maybe next season I want to play in the Europa League, so I have to concentrate on that first."

Celtic faces Central Coast in Sydney, Perth Glory at NIB Stadium and Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park from July 2.

totaly agree with that alsy, dont see what the big deal is with adam. we have far better mids than him and he's being qouted at as much as £12m so weshould expect big money for a younger better ki, but it will never happen.

So its much more all round talent now? In what way? Heading, tackling, tracking back, discipline, not giving the ball away. Is this what you mean? Or just dribbling?

I agree, though he isnt as talented all round as Kayal and Ledley in that case. And thats why if we were offered a transfer fee it would be good business.

And this isnt a post on the merits of Ki against all other Celtic players. The chances are we wouldnt get the same money for McCourt etc, so if the opportunity is there then we should consider it.

I think he will be missed though. this squad that Lennon has built has some serious potential, Ki was vital in a lot of games last year, I dont wanna see any of this squad broken up, * the money, this is football!

Your right. If had proved himself in a better league than the SPL then we could expect a big transfer fee. To date though he has played in the SPL and isnt even guaranteed a start. No club is going to pay £12m for him, to suggest otherwise is daft.

The other alternative is we keep him and keep hoping that he improves. At the moment that is gonna be hard as he is second choice to Ledley and Kayal. So if he isnt playing, in a year or two he will probably ask to leave, or he will go for a smaller fee.

If an offer comes in now, we cant be sentimental about it. £5m would be fantastic business for a player who is not a started and has never played in a big league.

Its the silly season though, so it wont happen. I dont see where he would fit into the Liverpool team either.

You thinkso? i rate Adam as one of the best left footed players in the EPL
Adam has turned into a cracking player and yet to be confirmed in a bigger club than Blackpool

i just think he's miles better than KI
