For players who have value or worth to us, we the fans always say give him a full year to prove himself, a lot of fans are saying that kayal shouldn't receive a wage rise till he proves in a full year that his 4 months wasn't a fluke. I agree with this, so if we take into account Ki's first arrival in the mowbray tenure that was an absolute nightmare that had nothing to do with Ki and literally forget that.

Move onto this season he had a good half season then had to go away to the asian cup and didn't feature until the last 10 games of the season or so, again this season he hasn't had a full season to prove himself. so in answer to your question of how much longer we should give him then the answer is a full season.

Other players in this team have had that luxury why should Ki be any different.

Ki's shown his quality this season and pretty much only lost his place in the team because he had to leave for asia, which allowed the newly fit Kayal and Ledley to form a partnership (which is great obviously) but that doesn't mean Ki didn't merit being in the team anymore, it's just you don't break up something that's working for the sake of fitting a player in. When he's come back into the team he hasn't put a foot wrong, especially against Rangers and in the cup final against Motherwell.

On individual performance I'd put him slightly ahead of Ledley, and would really like to see what Kayal and Ki would look like given a run of games.

If I had my way I'd actually play a 3 man centre with all of them in there, which I think we'll do in europe at least.

I think £5m would be value. If he was on the market now, would you be happy if we were to pay that for him? Im not governed by any fear, I am just being rational. Naka, should have been sold with a year left on his contract, we would have got a return, not what we shelled out, but a fee. His last season was his poorest. You say there is little point in speculating about a player, but thats what football is. Speculation. Celtic are at a stage now where we arent in the CL, money is going to be tight and we have to consider offers for players.

The argument that he was our best player before Xmas is valid, he was, for a spell. As was McCourt , for a spell, and Maloney at the start of the season , before he got injured. In the spell that Ki was playing though, we lost big points in a series of games that were at a vital stage.

I dont think he is a better player than Ledley, but thats just opinion. Ledley works harder, better in the air, better tackler, more disciplined, and more of a goal threat. Ki may be a better passer, but I dont think there is much in it in that dept. Lennon obviously feels the same. The fact Ledley is two years older is a moot point. At this stage it means very little, especially given the international experience both have.

Im not wanting to turn this into a Ki bash. My stance was , early in the season I wasnt a fan, spesh around Nov/ Dec when we dropped so many points. However, the last few games where he got a run and did well, I changed my mind, and found new respect for him. If an offer comes in, fine. If not, then I am happy to have him here. And then I hope you are right, that he does go on to be a better player.

Was outstanding at Ibrox in the 2-2, Kayal was brought off so that says something. Dillydallys a bit though.

I'm not even sure he does 'dillydally' as much as some people say, although I have seen him caught on the ball a few times but what player doesn't now and then? I think he just looks so comfortable and relaxed on the ball half the time people think he's being slack when he isn't really. He keeps possession as well as anyone in the team.

I mean on the flipside there are players who look very 'urgent' on the ball but don't actually do anything with it, I know which of the two I'd rather have.

Well until we can get him signed up I guess Ki will have to suffice!

Ki is just a different class hes taken a while to settle in sometimes people forget he's only 22. He came in and took a while to settle he was a bit of a lightweight but imo this season he has toughened up alot, he still has alot to learn but i wouldn't let him leave he was branded one for the future and he definetly looks like one in a year or so's time that will be a big impact player for us in the middle of the park.

    A very very good point.

Ki is a great player. his long passing is superb but dont think we utilise it as much as say when he plays for korea though (could be very useful in euro games with 3 in the middle) he is very intelligent, comfortable on the ball and can dictate play. can strike a ball from distance. he chases down opposition early. im pretty sure he could be pivotal for the side. he played 36 games last year which was more than thought tbh which is a good thing for us as he will feel he is important to the team (which he is). im pretty sure he will start in the vast majority of our tough games this year especially in europe. everyone thinks its kayal and ledley for the two centre positions (assuming we play 4-4-2). its a big year for Ledley this year thought he had a decent season but think he has more to offer if not this kid will is waiting. But lets say Ledley has a stormer of a season and last season was more of a settling in period, whose to say Kayal will be here this season next season or whatever.

I don't think we should sell any of the main midfielders we have. Ki, Kayal, Ledley, Commons, Forrest and Brown are all of a standard to play for the club for a few years yet, and still improve both individually and collectively.

We need to keep all of these guys, and add some quality to the defence and attack. Any one of the midfield can do a job when there are injuries and we need to keep that quality high.

Ki has been superb as a young midfielder coming from Asia, adapting to Scotland and getting used to the physical element of the game here. He completely bossed the first old firm game at Parkhead, even though we lost 3-1. He could become a mainstay for many years to come.

No offense but that is stupid, Brown is a crap player who is not going to get any better, Ki is improving every month and has tons more talent than broony ever will

IMO its not about us wanting to keep him or not. Its about whether Ki wants to stay here or not. Ki is under-rated by our fans when he is one of the most highly talented footballers in world in terms of potential. And we want to sell him for 5-mil???? a 40 cap international at the age of 22 who is seen as the next xavi alonso?? Sorry guys nothing less than 10 mil for him.

Anybody who wants rid of Ki has to ask why?

A youngster (which is what he is, by the way) who is showing maturity and ability of a top player.

    so can only get better?:97:
