ah know the club needs money and i understand they have to play in the dublin cup to get money . But as a season card holder this is a home match that been postponed and to be honest ah would rather watch SPL game where the three points counted on a saturday in august with the sunny probably out, than sitting frezzing midweek some winters night , there are a lot of fans from far away who struggle to make a midweek game , and buy there ticket to go to the weekend matches .
will watch the dublin games of course but at the end of the day there meanless

    Disguisted to be honest...

Yes revenue is important but the League should be the number one priority. I was going to go to Dublin but when I saw the dates of the new season I realised that it would be a mostly reserve side in Ireland or a first team hardly trying...

Makes no sense apart from financial....

the season three weeks old before we have a home match at celtic park because of this dublin cup .all the fans in dublin will have a ball , sadly ah cant afford it or get the time aff to go , but ah would have been at celtic park that saturday afternoon, and the spl game matters at the end of the day

I agree that the home game should have taken priority, its a bit of a joke to be getting involved in meaningless friendlies just for some extra cash. They should show the fans a bit more respect.

It was organised before SPL decided on early start to the season.

was the league brought forward at bit this season and celtic already had agreed to play in this so couldnt back out. I can see the disadvantage of playing in this but it will be good for us here in Ireland. Any of ye coming over from scotland will know what its like for us going over a few times a year. It might be a reserve side palying but we will still party. Hail Hail

In that case, its not as bad a decision as I first thought but I think we might regret it.

wit about the season book holders from ireland and other places that cant make a midweek game celtic should give these folk there dufermline ticket money back , if celtic want to cash in fine i understand that , but they sell season cards with fans thinking other than the rangers game most matches will be a saturday afternoon , the club decided to cancel the match and it was on a saturday so they should refund any fans that cant make that match , then you dont feel like you bought something that never existed
i will be at the game it will not bother me a stay local bit of a rush after work but you cant beat a saturday , but the crowds always down on a midweek match , and you always hear fans saying yes but loads of the irish guys cant get over mid week
offer refunds for any fan that does not want to use there card for the dunfermline game , the club can make sure the card wont let them in , then everyones happy :50:

the though of giving money back would break the plc heart , but its the decent thing to do

I've heard rumours that you get more for winning the Dublin Super Cup than you do for the winning the SPL.

I am not a fan of Celtic playing friendlies once the league season is under way. Ever since that time we went to Japan to play a friendly before going to Tynecastle 3 days later for a league match, a match we lost, I have been against this. Yes I know there is a difference between going to Dublin and going to Japan but I think the point still stands.

Financially playing in the Dublin Cup makes sense but from a football perspective I'm really not all that keen on us taking part.

i dont understand peoples views here tbh. The tournament was arranged and agreed to before the league decided on an early start. Now this home game we miss, its still there? Just at a later date. Why does that upset anyone. And finally, has anyone seen the cash involved in this tournament. Its a big deal, and Celtic wont be sending out reserves. I wouldnt mind seein the wee cash boost that comes with this.
