A central defender for AC Milan offered to play a whole season for nothing for them because he had been injured a lot. Cant remember his name but it was last season.

Why do you think he left only a few months after signing? He failed to win a deal after the trial period.

That might well be true but my original point was, in response to the OP, that Kapo was a pointless signing. Fight between him and the y front model for smallest contrbution.

He 'left' because he there was a clause in his contract that allowed him to be realeased after Christmas if he was basically *. Lennon took up this option to release him.

Think he was on about 6-7k a week...maybe more......certainly never played for free:rolleyes:

To be fair to Kapo he got injured. Cant argue about Ljunberg though. Not sure how much we paid him but it was money down the drain.

What's with all the :rolleyes:s? It's true. It was in the statement when he left. Doesn't matter anyway.

1.5million for Murphy was a waste but I'd rate his signings very good. The money we got for McGeady definitely gave him a good opportunity to make decent signings and I think him and his team have done it very well. Few wee gems in there too which we could make massive profits from if they are sold, however I hope that doesn't happen

Forster 8-Great for us but is going.I would've wanted to hold on to him.
Cha 6-Alrightish,will not be a starter though.
    Izz 9 POTY,Godsend.
Mulgrew 7-I like him in the starting line up but could maybe see even better from him next season?
Maj 6-couple of costly mistakes but apart from that has been goo enough imo
Kayal 8-Genetically superior Islamic warrior. Will really shine next season.
Ledley 9-Key player for us,great signing and maybe my favourite player.
Juarez 3-Done nothing of note, don't think his heart is here at all and I think he's dying to leave.Stories that he chucked it in training and if that is true then he can do one.
Commons 9-can't help but score,a total steal.
    Hooper 8-goals galore.
    Stokes 8-Goals galore.
Murphy 4-Failed to justify his being here and probably never should have been brought in the first place.

    Well summed up.
The rest of lenny's signings have ranged from acceptable to * brilliant.

same could be said for juarez yet you rated him lower, and I doubt anyone here thinks murphy is more talented than juarez

Yes but the fact here seems to be that their is a problem outwith the football field when it comes to Juarez - perhaps his professionalism or his work ethic maybe?

Murphy, albeit not as talented a footballer as Juarez maybe , has at least showed a great positive attitude this season and always digs in when he comes on.

I think his dealings have been fantastic. Kayal, Izzy, Hooper were the 3 best players in Scotland IMO, then there's players like Ledley, Stokes, Commons has been simply outstanding, Cha has put in a good shift, Mulgrew I think has really come onto a game, Maj has been really commanding at CB, Forster has done brilliantly, I even think Kapo did well in the 2 games he played.

Forster-6-Decent but a work in progress. Not amazing but good.

Cha-4-A miss. Too attacking. Playing him was part of our problem pre-New Year

Izz-9-great signing. Only doubt remains how he will be when playing against a decent level of winger.

Mulgrew-6-Rotten LB but looks a good ball playing CH when he isnt challenged too much by quality opposition. I still dont think he is defensively strong enough though.

Maj-6-Was an improvement but the other options were terrible. He can do a job against basic physical slow attackers but I dont think he has the legs to play at a decent level now. Weirdly bad in the air at times.

    Kayal-10-Great signing.

Ledley-6-Not as impressed by him as some but we will see next season.

Juarez-3-Has to count as a miss

Commons-9-cant argue with how effective he is

Hooper-8-Looked amazing. Would have been a 9 but e tailed off

Stokes 7-good against average SPL level. Have doubts about his ability above that level.

Murphy-3-can hold the ball up but is limited otherwise and is a non-scoring striker.

    Freddie-0-pointless signing

I would say out of 13 signings that is 4 peaches, 2 very useful signings, 3 who have done a job/contributed and 4 misses

I make that 77 points spread across 13 players. That is an average of about 6 out of 10.

Overall its been hit and miss but Lenny has done pretty good considering the problems dabbling in a market for cheaper players. I tend to think when the players are not breaking the bank the misses dont matter too much and the 4 gems in Izz, Kayal, Hooper and Commons more than make up for the duds.

I agree with most there gunt but i would have said cha is more 6 than 4, think he did reasonably well if im honest and while wasn't exactly setting it alight he wasn't terrible either and gave us something we had been missing in sheer pace.
