DD played golf with a City exec, Mancini is trying to offload him & everyone goes nuts.

Lenny has said he wants him, that's like Sally saying he wants Kenny Miller, Goodwillie etc...

The City exec probably thinks DD will be putting his billions into Celtic, like the City owners - well, it's not like that.

City will need to fund most of this themselves, they're either mad or are using the crazy media attention on Celtic to offload a player - much like with Given.

Difference is that Bellamy hasn't come out saying much, unlike Given (who's shockingly at Villa in the EPL).

Excuse me if I'm not wetting myself.

There's not many Sheik's cutting about golf clubs in their Thawb's :97:

The difference between Bellamy and Given is Bellamy would return to haunt City should he be sold to a rival and Mancini is aware of that. Hence the reason he was being extremely specific, if Celtic want Bellamy then Bellamy can go to Celtic.

Just the fact that we are actually in talks is a lot of progress on constant speculation.

Don't think it will happen and to be honest , don't really want a loan player , its a bit short sighted in my opinion

I really hope this doesn't happen. Spending all sorts of wages on an ageing past-it striker we don't need is ridiculous when we badly need a goal keeper. Stokes and Hooper are better than Bellamy is now. If it was a few seasons ago when he was one of City's best players I'd love for him to join but not now.

I think he'd be great, providing he can stay fit. Lennon will sign a goalie before the end of the window.

I would rather we signed a GK than spend maybe 40k a week on Bellamy, sure he was good the last time he was here but it doesnt guarantee success as was shown. Spend the money on GK,and and a striker who will be here for more than one season

That was only a short loan spell, this is a full season loan.

I can see your point, but Bellamy is not going to be on 80k a week forever.

Totally agree - Bellamy is only after the money - again! We need a goalkeeper, plus get a striker who's going to be there next season.

Get rid of the dross like Samaras, Murphy, McCourt, Maloney, and invest in a top drawer striker.

I would accept that, would rather a keeper but if we can get bellamy at the cost of not getting a keeper then yes please, he would score 20+ easily

it's not a case that if we get Bellamy, we won't get a keeper.

Why is this thread full of folk saying " I would rather we get a keeper". Does getting Bellamy mean we are not getting a keeper???!!! Offcourse not - Lennon says he is starting his goalkeeper hunt again today and he WILL sign another keeper regardless of who else he signs.

So it would make more sense if people just focused on whether they actually want bellers back or not.

I would be gutted to see stokes or hooper dropped at the moment but bellamy is on another level and would give our team that world class player. Which he is!! I dont care what age he is or what people think of his past - this guy gives 200% on the park and is a complete menace for defences to deal with. My only worry may be is if he gets niggly injuries and we dont get him playing often enough.

CARDIFF CITY'S hopes of landing Craig Bellamy appear to be fading after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admitted talks are underway with Celtic.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon is keen to get a loan or permanent move wrapped up by the end of this week, with the Bluebirds unable to come close to paying Bellamy's £90,000 a week wages

Bellamy, who had a loan spell at the Scottish giants in 2005, has one year remaining on his contract, although it is understod Manchester City will do everything they can to help facilitate a move away from Eastlands.

“It is possible there have been conversations about Craig Bellamy between us and Celtic,” said Mancini.

“I met Craig two days ago at Carrington. He told me something I want to keep to myself. What I said two days ago was that if Celtic want Craig, he is a good player, and I think he can go.”

Like the Bluebirds, Celtic are also unlikely to be able to match Bellamy's current wages, meaning a loan move might be the most likely outcome.

Boss Lennon said: "I didn't speak with City, but the two clubs have been working on that in the background.

"Hopefully there will be more to report at the end of the week."

Celtic midfielder, and former Cardiff City favourite, Joe Ledley admitted he hopes a deal can be reached to bring Bellamy to Celtic.

Wales international Ledley told a number of Scottish newspapers: “I’d love for Craig to come to Celtic.

“He has been at the club before, knows what it’s all about and would be a fantastic signing.

“I’ve played with him for the national team and he has an incredible desire to win.

“Craig also brings the best out of his team-mates.

“Craig would do very well at Celtic if some sort of deal was sorted out.”

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has remained tight-lipped on the Bellamy situation throughout the summer, but he would love to bring the local hero back to the Cardiff City Stadium following last season's successful loan spell.

How not? They will both be able to get a game aswell.

    This is my line up

    New Keeper
    Wilson K.Wilson Majstorovic Izaguirre
    Commons Kayal Ledley Bellamy
    Stokes Hooper
    But I don't think I'll see that.

Agreed but competition never hurt anyone. We should always be in a position where we can put at least two proven goalscorers on the park. Having Bellamy won't do our chances of that any harm whatsoever. We have a lot of competition in midfield and it's been a good thing for us so I for one hope he does come.
