    Brilliant news! :50::50::50:

To me, this is like a longstanding blot on our club's character finally being erased.

Has he been a forthright chairman who stood up for the club's interests? Yes, he probably has. And come to that, this Ratko Mladic seems a very pro-active character too. Mibbe we should get him in as Reid's replacement - provided he can get a result in the Hague?

Or mibbe not. See if I'm being honest, my draft of the Celtic Chairman job application form?

    1) Are you a war criminal at all?

( If you answered NO to this question, please proceed to question 2... )

Bet the Green Brigade will be happy.

Lets face it, somebody had to take the fall for the huns winning 3 in a row.

    Sad but true.

I didn't agree with alot of Dr Reid's politics either but he has fought well and hard for the good of the club. I don't think the new guy will have anywhere near the clout Reid has as a former no nonsense politician.

I'd go for George Galloway - but if Chairman has been sorted bring him in as Head of Public Relations :icon_mrgreen:

Seriously though, no matter your feelings on the man, Reid will be missed!

How is it childish? Seems like the least childish thing in the world to me. A lot more childish to act like what he's been involved in doesn't matter 'cos he's a Tim:87:

...anyway THANK * AND GOOD RIDDANCE!!:party048::party22::36::57::57::57::57:

    Finally!

The only thing of note he did was speak out at the AGM last year. His role in the whole SFA thing was exaggerated by his fan bhoys though. I have no idea how anyone could be "gutted" by this news. I was "gutted" when legends like Henrik and Artur left not a chairman.

No more war-mongering, Brit politicians please, Celtic :celt_2:

My previous posts probably sounded like i was a fan of his.

I have no love for him,he can be easily replaced i am sure, and any Celtic fan would say the same words he spoke.

I mind him in the late 80s when he was a blonde baldy git who seemed much more interested in power than priciple. He didnt change.

    Really??

You're seriously arguing that a man has no responsibility for the actions of a government of which he was a senior member, even if those actions are acts of war in breach of international resolutions?

Wow - looks like Goebbels, Goering, Eichmann and all those good guys were treated pretty unfairly then.

If there's one thing the twentieth century has established - beyond all doubt I would have thought - it's that the responsiblity for war crimes (alleged or proven) cannot be weaseled away simply by saying the decisions were collectively made. Collective responsibility does not excuse the individual.

He's off to start a new war somewhere... perhaps.

On a serious note, I won't shed no single tear. At the end of the day we have been unsuccessful during his reign. I expect more than a couple of angry speeches or letters towards the SFA in 4 years.

    Bring in a charismatic winner.

All the best John Reid wish him well atleast he had the balls to stand up to the SFA and everyone else targetting us 110%, most of the people who blab on about him being doctor death etc. say it because every * else does, have your own opinions and my opinion is the man did his job well and helped bring back a bit of pride and backbone.
