Cutting the Deadwood!!

Just wondering who is all likely to leave this summer, and what kind of capital they might bring in fee-wise and the freeing up of wages.

as we are all aware the lack of CL dosh has hampered us in terms of spending due to the increase in overall debt.

and we are operating largely on £5m a season budgets subsidised by outgoing players although not all the monies brought in seem to geting spent take last season for instance, McGeadys fee covered all of our transfer dealings never mind the extra 2.5-3M brought in through the sales of Boruc and big McManus!!

OUT

Forster- for obvious reasons, but would you have him back?

Zaluska- in my opinion was found seriously wanting in early season
be lucky to get 500k for him

Hinkel- freedom of contract 18-20k a week saved?

Loovens- never been confident in him too weak for me
kenny miller proved that £750k-1M and 10k

Cha- services not required with matthews in and wilsons form being terrific
£1m and 10k a week

Juarez- dunno why it hasnt worked out for him perplexed the same as
fan who seen him pre-season and early season need to try and
claw back as much of the fee as poss. £2m and 15kpw

Ljungberg- perennially injured cracking player but too much of a risk
25k pw

Maloney- a robber pure and simple id accept almost any fee offered to
get this guy off the wage bill a total drain on resources
more so than my kids!! plus he must be on a good wage
15-20+?

McGinn- just not good enough 500k and 5k pw

McCourt- a mercurial talent but i dunno about paddy i just dont see
where he fits in and for his careers sake hes too good to be
benched every week here £1.5M 4k pw

Murphy- should never have been bought in the first place a million pound
mistake!! 500k 10k pw

Sammi- i like sammi as well but he frustrates me to bits and i want him
gone before i end up bald would do well in spain or italy i feel
£2M purely due to the new contract and 15-20k pw

Stokes- has been a good signing for the outlay but i feel hes more hassle
than hes worth always a story and the whole too tired to play for
Eire after a 25min cameo in the cup final was a joke bit lazy bit
moany £2m 10k pw

Hooiveld- never kicked his career off here properly but shouldve avoided
talking to the press before he had a run in the side shame but
£1m 8k pw

McGowan- just nowhere near good enough let him go for free

O'Dea- thanks for the cup final against the huns but hes had plenty of
time to try and cement a place move him on 500k

Hutchison- what that your thinking who?

so thats me list bring in around 10-11M there and save a pretty penny in wages too i'd bet!!

now i know theres a lot of players here but we have a first team 0f 38 guys including the fellas on loan a 24 man squad is more than enough for us to be getting on with. i also know the chances of moving all these guys on is slim but a Bhoy can dream!

 

I'd punt the same - except I'd keep Stokes.

I'd also love it if we brought in 2-3 top quality players and used our top performing U-19's as squad players to bulk it out

 

Disagree with a few of the players you would sell but I do agree we must trim the squad. We could save a huge amount of wages and gain a good few million. Add that to whatever the board are willing to make available and we can really push on from last season - by adding quality not quantity.

Biggest problem is getting clubs interested in some of the players.

 

agree with most apart from maloney ,think he is an honest player who has not had any luck ,if the same happens again nxt season then yes lose him.

 

Baffles me why people would want to sell stokes, his so called bad attitude gets over exaggerated on here.

i did swither with Juarez due to his early season form so disappointed in him.
paddy and stokes too are a tad harsh after stokesy goals and assists return this season!

Gotta say Jamesy its the moaning face that does it for me i was never a scott mcdonald fan cos of his wee greetin face and stokesy has the same wee face at times for me that is all plus the fact i think its good business and hes easily replaceable

 

Only one i'd not sell would be Stokes.

Stokes - He's had a great season and like Jamesy said, his attitude is exaggerated.

Cha - Not seen the best of him and he's an option at RM when Brown's out.

Juarez - I want us to keep him, watched him for his previous club and for his country and he's good enough to be starting. I can only think that he's struggling to settle in Scotland.

McCourt - I would like us to keep him as an impact sub, as long as he's happy playing a small part.


I could live with it if we sold McCourt and Juarez. Both have different problems and it would be understandable if both were to go. Would like to see more of Cha and would definitely keep Stokes.

 

i see what your saying about Cha i remeber the st johnstone game just before he and ki went the asian cup, but we have forrest as a right sided option plus the boy mcgeogh is supposed to be a real talent and can play right side coupled with cha's age i just think he'll be picking up a good wage while in the main contributing nothing to the team other than depth

 

I dont see how selling our 2nd top goalscorer and one of our most productive players in assists aswell would be good business, when stokes, commons and hooper are linking up thats when we are at our most dangerous.
Selling 3 of our 4 man strikeforce would be daft imo, sammy possibly, murphy definitely but selling stokes aswell especially since we know him and hooper play well together upfront would be a mistake imo.

 

So get rid of them all and have no subs !!!!

agree with most of what you have said about OTT with wee shaun but still he needs to move on

also in bold about stokes i would keep him we paid 1.2m for him yet you would only want 800k on top of that for one of our best player this season and also joint top scorer and most assists aswell

if he was to leave i would want a club down south to pay around 3.5m-4m for him
