Haha yes the game was terrible wasn't it. To be fair the weather conditions have been terrible and on the day there was a gale force wind blowing so that did not help matters. But certainly the lack of quality on show from both sides was plain to see. The pitch was at best medicore although sadly that is actually a significant improvement on the cabbage patch it was much of last season.

Little harsh on the Fire fans there. It is not their fault the club is a joke. To be fair to them they have been pretty loud about expressing their displeasure with the clubs ownership which is based in southern California and has it seems little interest in the club and at best only a tenuous grasp on the Chicago market and the kinds of moves it would take to succeed in the Chicago area.

Too true, I shouldn't put the blame on them. Crowds have been driven away from Toyota Park due to neglect and when the team was not only successful, but trying, they were well-supported. It's a sad state of affairs for what should be one of the more successful clubs in MLS.

Still think it was an awful game to showcase to Europe though.

No question whoever picked that game obviously has no clue about the current state of the MLS. That should have been the last game picked to showcase MLS.
When it comes to Fire. If you look at how bad the team is now and what a joke the club is on and off the field it really is tough for anybody who wants the Fire to do well as long as they are stuck with an ownership based in southern California that has absolutely no clue about the Chicago soccer market and seemingly very little interest.

Vancouver just dismantled Galaxy for the league lead. Brilliant!

Vancouver have been the most intelligent with their DP signings. They've come a long way in the last couple of years. Morales and Rivero together are too much for MLS defenses.

Credit to Robbo, he's destined to manage in the EPL I think. Hopefully after a shield or cup in the MLS.

So, how long do you think Toronto wait before sacking Greg Vanney?

I think MLSE has shown they're not afraid to sack managers/coaches. I also think it's crazy that Toronto can bring in some of the top players in the league but they can't find an experienced manager.

I thought initially that Vanney was in until the end of the season, and have to admit I was a bit horrified when I found out he was the actual manager.

There's no way he's the vocal authority in that dressing room. Bradley will be carrying out team talks and suchlike no doubt.

Yup and it looks like América has come back from 3-0 down in the first leg in the other semi. 100000 in Mexico City and 60000 in Montreal. Will be a * of a final.

I'm sure he'll get a bit of time. Toronto's back line has been ravaged by injury and has been their downfall so far. The midfield and attack has looked fine, they're just too easy to score against.

Maybe they should have been looking for a DP to play in defence rather than throwing a shitload of cash at Giovinco. I've watched every TFC game thus far this season, and he looks well out of his depth. He looks the way I expect he'd look if he signed for Celtic and was playing in the SPFL.

He wants too much time on the ball, and seems to get bullied too easily. We'd have been perfectly fine with the forwards we have, and maybe adding an MLS level midfielder to the side to bolster up the first choice pairing of Bradley and Cheyrou (who has been looking like the signing of the season for us thus far).

I think he'll come good, he just needs some time to adapt to the league. It's tough for players to come from Europe to MLS because defenders do seem to always be on the attacking players instead of keeping their shape. Once he settles in a bit I think Toronto's attack will be hard to stop.

Cheyrou was a cracking signing. Deservedly wore the armband in Bradley's absence.

Does Montreal Impact have a chance tomorrow at the Azteca?

América crushed that Costa Rican team but then * my coupon when Ronaldinho got two in that four goal mauling at the Azteca. Turned off after the first two in that one but they didn't look good.

    Or Mexican business as usual?

Could it happen...? L'Impact get a draw at Azteca (1-1), albeit after surrendering their lead in the 88th which could be crucial. A sell-out is expected back in Montreal.
