I've the first GOT book and read about 200 pages of it but that was probably a year ago, need to try get back into it after exams

Reading Olaudah Equiano's autobiography at the moment, an African slave in the 1700's who eventually was freed and supposedly had a big influence on the slave trade act. Interesting enough compared to some of the other * I have to read for college.

I'm fairly new to GoT, my sister's been a fan for ages..

I was talking to her tonight about some guys voice that I hate and she started laughing mid convo.. I was like what is it? then she explained to me that the guy I was calling Bruce Bolton is actually called Roose .. What the * sort of name is Roose:56:

That lead to her saying she only knew his name because she's read the books.. so that's how I got around to getting them from her.

I wanna read the GoT books aswell, I keep going into the wiki and reading up on characters too much and spoiling things.

There is some good things supposed to be coming up but the tv show seems to be skipping the good * or delaying it :38:

Only managed to read like 10 pages of GOT in a week, just couldn't focus.. not really a big reader.. but I've just read up to page 36 there.. So far it's basically just everything that happened in Season 1.

    Will read more later.

To be fair to them, a lot of people find it difficult keeping up as it is. They had to streamline it somehow. That said, you do wonder about some of the characters that have been cut altogether that seem like they would have potential to change the endgame, by writing them out it would seem like they're confirming that they're not important. For example,
Lady Stoneheart and Aegon Targaryen you'd expect to impact the story but they're nowhere to be seen

Plus everything with Sansa has changed, Coldhands is gone - he seemed important. Jojen is dead along with The Hound (maybe). The Iron Isles has almost evaporated from the TV show but there is still time. By the end of this season they will have caught up with the books.

Apparently G.R.R.Martin has told the producers how it all ends in case he dies.
