So is this a chronic shoulder problem?

Its not a chronic shoulder problem till he gets the same injury again, hes been playing for a few months now reserves/internationals and no sign of any return of a shoulder injury. Why are we discussing maj who is not the subject of this thread anyway, your point gunt was that Given could be injury prone, his recent injuries do not suggest that at all. A serious injury does not make you injury prone.

Larsson had a terrible injury with his break but afterwards he wasn't injury prone he was almost the opposite, id be more worried about someone like woodgate or king who get nigly injuries every few months. Given being 35 has at least 3 years left at the top level.

in probably the poorest SPL ever. All these records mean nothing. Lots of points, few goals lost yes but Rangers were the same and they were one of the worst Rangers sides ever. The only conclusion is that the SPL was exceptionally weak last season. Both the points stat and the goals lost stats are pretty meaningless.

well if its a one-off injury then that is different. However, the main hope is we can get him for under 3 million. I just have no memory of us ever paying decent money for a goalie.

And apart from Big Artur, we've not had a class keeper in the last decade or two

Does my nut in too. The SPL was the same this season as it has been for the past few seasons now. It has not improved, nor has it declined. I'm not buying into all this "worst Rangers side ever" bullshit either. They do have some players among their ranks that could cut it even in the Prem, like McGregor, Jelavic, Davis and Bougherra etc.

He'd have to take a wages cut, but I bet he'd be ok with that at his age. He's probably gonna have to take a cut wherever he goes. Maybe, just maybe. Even if we sign Fraser to a contract, would love to have Given here as well.

I know for a fact that he would jump at the opportunity to join us as he was sitting just behind me at the 3-2 game vs Rangers two seasons ago. I asked him if he'd come and sign for us and he said, "I'd love to mate"

well I suppose its down to medics to decide if its an ongoing risk. I had an uncle who had a similar problem and had operations but they didnt ever sort it to the degree where he could do sport (martial arts) the way he used to and so he gave it up and took up something less physical

He was hardly likely to say 'No. Unless Celtic give me £80,000 a week' was he?

he is not the answer, not in this league, its football players that we lack, ones that can take the ball into the Dee area, no matter the defense, wing play only frustrates our players, as they don't do anything for us, as we have no one capable of connecting with cross balls, how many time dose it need to be, that we are exposed, and shown up with the corners we get, and the result time after time is nothing.
this is basic football we are talking about here, players should be able to time the flight of the ball and charge in, i have never seen it in four years of our play. players that can connect with the head on a regular basis. we should have by now a 2 team systeem 1 for flair play, when the teams are not defensive mined, and the other to play through defensive teams, and that is having no wing back play just straight through the middle only, 4 forwards working the 18 yard dee no wider
