I would like him to stay as I think he's decent and could become an exceptional player by the time he's 28 or 29. Especially under a manager he clearly loves playing for.

But £3m is a good offer for him so I would probably accept because not enough of the fans back him and you can hear the groans every time he gives the ball away, even when silence has greeted McCourt doing the exact same thing.

It is just a pity that people are looking for him to be an out and out striker when he clearly isn't.

He still has a lot to learn, more so when to look for the best pass or knowing that there is a pass to be made when he goes for goal.

If he can show these traits with all his other attributes, then he could be a very important player in the making.

He is still young so I would give him the chance.

    NO.

And if £3m is there first offer? Of course you don't accept ffs, its business.

You haggle them for say £5m, if you get £4m, you consider it.

Some of you are far too desperate, also i'd rather keep him but i'd sell for £4m.

his goalscoring record is pathetic and so is his decision making when he could easily pass to a team mate who is in a good position

    I would definitely take £3m

A talent, but just not consistent enough.....£3Mill could be well used, however he would need to be replaced....?

Voted Yes on the basis of the money value, would like him to stay otherwise.

    I'm not picky.
I only agree with the highlighted points.

He holds the ball up far too much and instead of laying it off to someone else, he tries to run with it past defenders and loses it far too easy. He very rarely does a good job when dribbling with the ball and he should just keep it simple. He holds the ball up, but again, too much and ends up losing it too many times instead of laying it off.

The other main aspect is that he just doesn't score nearly enough goals for a striker. He has only scored 33 within the 3 full seasons he's been with us, which averages out at a paltry 11 a season. Hooper has been with us for one season and has got 20 and he was injured for a good part of the season too.

The only main reason I think he was given a new contract is so we could at least get some money from him when we sell him.

He is only 26 and does have plenty of time to get better but I think he's had his time with us. I would love him to start banging the goals in but can't see that happening to be honest.

You obviously didn't see the likes of Tony Cascarino, Rafael Scheidt, Wayne Biggins & Mo Camara :icon_mrgreen: Samaras is Messi compared to these guys.

It's a myth he'll be usefull in Europe, and just hypothetical defending of him at its lowest. He can't score more than 3 goals in the SPL,what chance has he got against European competition?I like the guy,and like it that he loves the club, but that isn't good enough, going by that I should be playing for Celtic.Time to move on Sammy.

I would think it's obvious that we would be playing a different system in Europe, his strength is running into space which teams who defend deep against us in the SPL don't afford but away from home teams will come onto us and leaving him up by himself to use his pace on the counter could prove a useful tactic, especially as he is not particularly great playing with a strike partner.

He's just not particularly great-period.The guy is allegedly a striker, and apart from New Year,he hasn't done anything of note this season.3 goals, isn't unlucky, when you're playing as a striker for Celtic that's embarassing.
I really fear for us if he's going to be relied on in Europe.I already have the image of him, standing there with his head in his hands, walking at a snails pace while the team are playing football. He is the most infuriating player I have ever encountered. He proved it in the final,he's proved it all season, that he can't cut it here.
