Well technically it is...but there are still distinctions to be made and there are definitely rapes of greater and lesser severity.
Stealing is still stealing...but taking a pencil from your work is not the same as burgling a pensioner is it?

Is this what he meant in regards to his serious rape claim (wrigleys 15yr old having * with a 17 year old) If so, he has a point, as to me that isn't rape

Ken Clarke is due to appear on QT tonight and it is being broadcast from the prison Wormwood Scrubs with the audience made up of prisoners, prison staff and civillian staff. Could make for interesting viewing.

What is it you guys dont understand?Seems straightforward enough to me.I agree with Ken Clarke there are different kinds of rape...and some are worse than others!!!.If you are married or in a relationship and used to a full * life and at the point of penetration you wife or girlfriend changes her mind and you ignore her and go in...is that rape????Technically it is......but should you be treated as the same as some monster that creeps up on women and threatens them with violence if they do not put out?
I'll say it again....there are different types of rape...like different types of stealing.

I tend not to go in for insulting language in here mate....but, dont be ridiculous.
Is is rape when i sneak in to my girlfriend without her permission during the night?
She may well wake up and slap me...or tell me to * off, but equally she might not.Is that rape?Is it rape when i have awoken to find my girlfriend in the process of taking advantage of my morning glory when i am hungover and tell her to get off and she ignores me?Is that rape?Is it rape when a girl says no and a guy ignores her every time?No it is not.....as many men and women will tell you, a woman frequently says no, but it can occasionally mean yes.I said occasionally mind, so dont jump down my throat at this point.!It is sometimes the games couples play and they have to learn to interpret accurately, and know where the boundaries are...or there will be no relationship.
So technically me and my girlfriend should be behind bars....is that what you are saying? So i will say it again...there are different types of rape.

but what your saying isn't rape,is it?your saying its consensual basically

how am i being ridiculous?your the one being ridiculous.if you force yourself upon someone it is rape.......are you 'forcing' yourself upon your GF?is se 'forcing' herself on you?

what your saying is completely different form rape.if she said no then you pinned her down against her will and raped her then yes you should be in jail

Well no, it is not always with consent given....as i said, sometimes "no" doesnt always mean no.I mean i am getting on a bit now mate , but i have lost count of the number of girls i have been with over the years.Almost every one has at some point in the fumbling, said no, and equally i have ignored the "no" almost every time. Not completely...i havent then just bulldozed my way in so to speak, but nevertheless, "no" was the instruction. If i had obeyed this instruction, i would still be a virgin.
It is unfair to true victims of rape to categorise them in the same way as girls that just want a guy to slow down,so they say no, but it is not a true "no" , its an unsure "no", or a slow down "no"....but he wants to speed it up...so he persists, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.....for the guy.We have all been there. It is knowing or reading the signals properly.Sometimes it can go wrong.(not for me thankfully)If a woman is in a hotel room naked and in the process of foreplay and at the last minute she changes her mind and the guy forces her to complete the act, then yes technically it is rape, but are you seriously telling me that guy should go to prison for 10 years like the morons that prey at night on hapless victims at the point of a knife....leaving them scarred sometimes for their whole life? Are those guys the same in your eyes?If so...i have nothing more to say to you...if not, then you agree with me.There are different kinds of rape...totally different.

Just for the record...incase i get anymore insinuating smilies...:97:,
I will categorically happily admit freely that rape is wrong and in most circumstances a terrible crime. My point is that there are varying degrees of rape. They are not all the same and should be treated on an individual basis.
I for example know of a girl that was raped by a member of her own family and had her genitalia exposed to a broken bottle after the event. The man that did this is obviously a monster, but according to some, a rape is a rape is a rape.Well i will never agree to that.

Yes ive had a bit of that!I really should change my name to MGM as some people refer to me as such!:icon_mrgreen:

Only time I feel sympathy for anyone who is facing rape charges, is if a under-aged girl looks much older than she really is and then the man is caught somehow and charged.

It's a bit awkward in a situation when the girl definitely looks old enough.

"Wanna go back to my place?"

    "You got ID?"

Even minor rapes are harrowing for the victim, the fear that takes over your body, the feeling of being filthy, disgusting, useless, that some how it was your fault often never leaves, even if it was "only a minor rape" Anyone found guilty of rape should be sentenced to a long time in jail, as with all crimes, the severity of the crime will influence the severity of the punishment, however, to say that a rape isn't really a rape just because it was someone the victim knew, or because it wasn't as violent is disgraceful. Rape carried out by a husband against their wife can be even more harrowing than a stranger, as the person you loved with your whole heart destroyed your world. I suggest you actually talk to victims of "minor" rapes before suggesting it is not the same as a violent rape, the severity of the attack might not be as bad, but the effect on your life can be just as debilitating. Just because one rape isn't as severe as another doesn't make it any less of a rape. As for statutory rape, I don't see that as the same as rape as it was consensual, however, if the * has taken advantage of the under age girl then they can be treated as a child abuser.
