    * of a man?

    What a load of *.

What has Keane ever done wrong to make you think that?

Only in it for the money? Erm... It's his job of course he's in it for the money.

With your last comment you obviously think Keane turned us down. He never. We NEVER even bid for him ffs!

Of course, Taz, but I did say "for a minute" :86:
The point I was trying to make was that, although there are other factors involved in the signing of any player, the most important one is their ability on the pitch. Keane was different class when he was here before and would undoubtedly be again. That's what I want to see and I have complete confidence in the management team, "suits" and the player sorting out all the other nonsense...

Keane would rip the SPL up. He was fantastic when he was up here....in a poor celtic team.

Still think we have a shot at Keane to be honest. It seems all of our strikers we are after have decided to go elsewhere and Bari's 4m evaluation of Huseklepp is a joke. I would love for us to get Musona, but that's anything but certain.

This link suggests that Blackburn don't want Keane in that type of deal:

Apparently Fulham have ruled out a bid for him here:

He's still quality, surprised that there aren't more interested. £4-6M would be a steal in today's market, it's a shame we don't have silly money kicking about like EPL clubs.

I think if he was available at 3.5 to 4 mil the board could afford it. That's not the issue though, it'd be his ongoing wages IMHO.

I don't think he's willing to sit on the bench for another season considering his ambition with Ireland and I don't think Redknapp honestly believes he will fight for a spot and wants to cash in for him on his last year on his contract. With not that many teams showing interest in him, I wouldn't be surprised to see our interest renewed.

I'm sure we can afford the 4m for him, the wages on the other hand would be a different issue. If we plan on getting Pletikosa on the cheap and fork out some money for Keane, I think our season should be set.

think we could afford 4 million but it would be down to him to lower his wages to continue his career and not sit on the bench

Dont people get it that nowadays players couldnt give a * about sitting on any clubs bench as long as the money keeps showing up in the bank. There are very few modern day players with any sort of morals as to who actualy pays these wages the fans its quite sad really

If he loves Celtic as much as he says, he should be happy to take a wage cut to play here, particularly considering he'd be guarenteed first team football. It's a sad state of affairs when a supposedly life long fan would rather get more money to play for a mediocre championship side with little to no chance of winning trophies than take a wage cut to play for his 'boyhood heros' in front of 60,000, playing in Europe and being almost guarenteed to win silverware.

    Good player, but utter mercenary.

The remit now is simple. a) young, hungry, and talented, or b) Experienced, and hard as nails.

No room for somebody whose main objective is to make as much money as possible, at the expense of a legacy.

    PASS!

With all the wages we waste on certain players I'm sure we could afford to give Keane what he's after by cutting down the numbers as their contract run out.

He's exactly what we need to take the title back and get a run going in the Europa.

Keano has sampled what scottish fitba has to offer and while im pretty sure he loved playing for us i dont think the thought of playing the likes of dunfy, killie or st mirren at least 4 times a season again would have him rushing back , dont think anyone can blame him if theyre being honest, also we cant even call on the cl to possibly tempt him or any other big name player , thats the real downside of playing in this pish league !!
