Paul Telfer :50: always liked him. Came in and did a fine job at right back even at his tender old age.

Paul Elliott, such an under-rated player.

    Anton of course.

Loved big Brian O'Neil at CB, the season we played at Hampden!

And big Tony Mowbray was a 100%er every game and started the huddle!:shamrock:

Great wee post mate! And thought provoking. You should have split it into GREATS and IMPACT though. I am reading the posts and dont know what I agree with !!

    Example: Greats:Jinky.
Impact: Paul Byrne - pretty * but an occupied County bhoy that tried like * and lived the dream !

    This guy....waste of a talent!

    Andy Ritchie

JOINED Celtic aged 15 in 1971 but had numerous disagreements with manager Jock Stein which led to his transfer to Morton in 1976 where he scored over 100 goals in seven years. He was so revered by the club's fans that he came to be referred to as 'the King of Cappielow Park'. 'The Idle Idol' was another nickname for a player famous for his slightly plump figure and expertise at free-kicks.
He was top scorer in the Premier Division for three consecutive years and was the Player of the Year in 1979. Ritchie perfected his ability at free kicks by observing the Brazilians train for the 1974 World Cup. His favourite move was to bend the ball into the net from corner kicks. He retired in 1985 aged just 28.
