Don't want to be the one to be negative lads but I just don't think out attacking style is suited to Europe (against teams that have whole leagues that play with that style so know how to play against it in and out). The Huns park-the-bus/power play style with big target men like when we had Hartson or Hesselink seems to be the only way to progress.

But I'd love to be proven wrong. Bring on next season. :50:

I believe lessons have been learned since our last European campaign and Lenny & co won't be as tactically naive this time round. If we can add one or two to the current squad I would be surprised if we didn't progress from the group stage.

Lenny and co were tacticially naive last year.

I do hope lessons have been learned.

We need a solid keeper and proven quality CB's in with pace.

If we dont and go with the likes of Mulgrew and Maj at CB for the Play off Round i'd favour us to get our arses skelpt. (again)

I'm a lot more confident about European football next season to be honest.

Our team has had time to grow and gel and now Lenny will know the areas that need to be improved so we can become a force once again :50:

they are average individually, with a few exceptions, but as a unit, they are rock solid

Their defence is unreal and they are great at pressing teams as soon as the opposition reach their own half. The way they play is great for two-legged matches aswell due to the fact they rarely ever concede at home!

We are a match for them in midfield and upfront but they blow us away at the back!

28th July last year was my birthday and the day we lost 3-0 to braga. awful.
therefore, i really hope we go straight to the play offs.

Quite looking forward to this. Wouldn't mind testing ourselves against someone like Stoke or Mainz.

TBH i just want an easy qualifier then we can test ourselves in the group stages. We need to at least qualify for the group stages.

i think we'll do ok if we can qualify.. these players have been together for a season now, well most of them. another couple of quality additions & lennys lhads will give most a good run for their money.

Lenny talks about adding players in a post match interview

I think with one or two good additions will go a long way

If we were to play Braga in the Europa league final now it would be a different story to last time we played them

but we need a tenacious defender to partner Rogne next year(Kelvin Wilson?dont know about that tbh)

push the boat out to buy Fraser Forster from Toon

Also sign good youngsters to build for future:50:

in bold, we need more than one or 2 mate looking more like 4-5 players with a bit of quailty to take us forward

GK - would take westwood cause newcastle want 3m for foster

2 xCB need 2 really good CB's one of them must have pace

RM seb larsson would be ideal but a RM is a must aswell

ST big target man who can score goals and is better than what we have now

i think 5 players is a must for the league and also european football

even if we played braga now i think they would still beat us cause they would rip our 2 CB's arseholes with pure pace
