    Been discussing this with a few Tims today and came across a few mixed views.

    Making the realistic presumption that the league is gone;

    Some are saying that a win would be pretty hollow.

    Others are saying that it is now a must win, and is of huge importance.

    Me personally, I reckon it is obviously a must win but if we win it and lose the league then it will mirror the final of '05, the feeling of winning a final will be tainted by the loss of the league and in general will feel pretty empty.

    I posted this in another thread earlier. I think it will feel pretty hollow if we go on to lose the league and then win the Cup, but at the same time, it'll be nice if Lennon gets to lift at least one trophy in his first season here. I simply cannot cope with having another trophyless season. We are Celtic, we should not be ending any season without at least one trophy.

    The CIS Cup would have been ours if the defence had turned up on the day, same story as last night.

    If indeed your pessimistic 'realisistic presumption' did come to fruition, the Scottish Cup would be no more than a day out for the fans at the end of the season.

    Far better and more important to win than the league cup but hollow in comparison to the league.

    I love winning the Scottish Cup and I really don't like to hear people talking it down or belittling it as a 'diddy cup'. It's a great day out and a great way to wrap up the season if you win it.

    Obviously it's not the main prize, the SPL is, but it's still a trophy that is well worth winning and I will celebrate in style if we win it or be extremely gutted if we lose in the Final.

    I mind we won the cup after "black sunday" think thommo scored?? anyway the atmosphere that day for a cup final was as flat as a witches * no-one could gee thereselves up for it i felt...this years final could be the same imo.
