we do have to spend i have said this many times and made a thread about us getting a CB in in the last few days of the jan window, but it never happend

now celtic will have to spend money this summer or all the hard work lennon has done to get bums on seats will be lost fans will stay away again the money i think we need to spend is around 10m-15m

gk westwood on a free so no fee

CB need a 3m-4m good CB who play's in ligue 1 bundesliga or a league like that

CM or wide player again 3m-4m someone with that bit extra in our team to win us game on there own

ST is a must a targhet man who can score goals we have to smaller type forwards in hooper and stokes we need a big man up front again need to pay 3m-4m

i would get rid of the dead wood and with the money they bring in and also it's made more wages there get some other better squad players in

we have a good side but we need that wee bit more to make us into champions and the only way it's going to happen is if we spend, am sick to death of people saying where is the money or we will end up like rangers and so on we will not, get the right players in and we will not need to spend big for a few seasons

if the board don;t back the manager with money the fans will turn on them very fast

How many were pens? I'd also like him to score against other top teams other than Aberdeen. Yesterday is evidence as to why we don't play him in the tougher games. He ain't good enough.

agreed. all we need is a few QUALITY players and this team could go far, spend £12-15 million on the right players now and it could save us spending £20 million on the * that we usually get.

the board havent backed lennon with money, look at how much we spent and compare it to what we got in from outgoing transfers. is it not roughly the same? they gave him what he was willing to let go.

Since when do we have to ability to buy big players or have the money or attraction to do this? What's changed? We have to make do with what we have, that's always been the case.
We have some quality players. One bad game against our bogey team and we should sell them all? Great fans.

Dont think its up to the individual quality of the players that we lost yesterday... people slate big maj but i dont really know why ? the guy has been playing world cups and european cups and done well i think the team has a poor mentality when they go a goal down

the history of celtic we always shoot ourselve in the foot,we fail to invest at crucial times and lose leagues and cups cos of this.lenny has done well this season and made mistakes like deal to sammy and 2 or 3 signings as well, and tactics as well give him another rolling contract and try and attract new investment now, then spend on quality players

He's never played in the World Cup. He's been a journeyman.

Out - Loovens, Hooiveld, Samaras, Hinkel, McGinn.

In - Two decent centre backs, two decent strikers. We have enough midfielders.

While I cant disagree that parts of the etam need strengthening, the squad we have now should be good enough to win the SPL.If people on here were to pick an SPL eleven the majority of thye players would be from our team.

Our biggest problem is we blow hot and cold. Every time we see a top class performance it is followed by a poor performance. The majority of these poor performances are masked by the fact we scrape out a result.

I think we personally think some of our players are better than they actually are, lets not forget that the first rangers 11 is much more expensive than celtics first eleven even with 4million pound scott brown, this has been the problem with celtic for years and years:

we buy to much quantity instead of buying that little bit extra quality. Its wonderful getting the likes of Kayal and izzy on low fees but it won't always work, you need to combine bargain signings with proven decent quality, for those going oh celtic can't afford big singings, we aren't fecking asking for a fernando torres, we are asking for slightly better quality than a samaras or a murphy or a mulgrew or a maj. Walter smith has proved that with an expensive first eleven and cheap subs, he has beaten or almost beaten a vastly stronger in depth squad of celtics.

Paying more for a player certainly does not guarantee they will do well but it does increase the chances, i think celtic need to go with some experience in the summer, i wouldn't go for english based players, id go abroad find some defenders experienced in winning leagues in holland, belgium, russia or wherever. The team last night just reeked of inexperience with so many young players and only 1 older head in the entire team, thats the mistake lennon has made, you look at the huns and while we may have the technically more gifted side, they have experience in abundance and that may prove to be the difference this season.

Nailed it right on the head :50:

Experience is the key this year. They are miles ahead of us in terms of experience. They have a veteran manager in his second spell at the club and they also have the same team that they've had for four years, a team that knows what it takes to cross that finishing line.

Us on the other hand, we have a manager in his first full season in the job and an entirely new team which took a while to settle in and cost us along the way (most notably in November and December, before we turned things around at the New Year).

thats what am thinking mate the ammount of money we have spent on * in the last 3 years is unreal, get the better players in and that will help us save money in the long run cause we will have the quality top win the league and not the big squad who are runners up

If you don't like it, no one is asking you to be here. It's a forum for * sake, people have the right to express their opinions and moan about players they feel played *. It's not just Stokes that gets it. Samaras always comes in for a bit of abuse too.

I'm not saying you don't have the right to be here. I'm saying if you don't like some of the opinions expressed on here, no one is asking you to come on and read them.

Although there was a mass change-around in playing staff last summer, this summer, we will have more stability hopefully in terms of playing staff and Lennon, mjallby, thommo and parker remaining as management/coaching staff. However i still feel this summer there has to be quite a change in playing staff as well. Forster's loan expires and back to Newcastle he will go, the players returning from loan should we should also look to move on - O'Dea, Hooiveld, McGowan etc. The likes of Mulgrew, Loovens, Maloney, Murphy, Samaras, Ki and Brown arent good enough in my opinion and Ljungberg's short term deal expires and looks as though he too will be moved on. Juarez is another player Lennon will have to decide on. We definitely need to get 4 or 5 players in on top of the arrivals of Kelvin Wilson & Adam Matthews. A gk - Westwood - bosman free from Coventry, 1 or 2 centre-halves - Ashley Williams should Swansea fail to get promoted, few midfielders - Adam Lallana - S'hampton, Michael O'Connor - Scunthorpe may be worth looking at, 1 or 2 strikers - Shane Long, Rickie Lambert, David Goodwillie, Mackail-Smith, George Boyd - both good goalscorers with peterborough, perhaps even scott mcdonald??
